Eau Claire, WI 54701 The pavement on US Highway 63, decks on three bridges, culverts and guardrail are showing signs of deterioration. To address this, WisDOT is proposing:

•Removing a portion of the existing pavement and placing 3.25 inches of new asphalt pavement.

•Replacing decks on three bridges.

•Replacing guardrail and several culverts.

•Cleaning ditches.

•Completing miscellaneous culvert repairs, culvert end wall treatments and all incidentals necessary to finish the work.

Small real estate acquisitions are anticipated to account for highway slope safety improvements and culvert work, and affected property owners will be notified by WisDOT when locations are finalized.

For the resurfacing portion of the project, motorists will encounter daytime single-lane closures controlled by flagging. During replacement of the bridge decks and several deep culverts, US 63 will be closed, and traffic will be detoured via US 10, WIS 65 and County J. Access will be maintained to businesses and residences during the detour.

Construction currently is scheduled for 2027, but work could occur as early as 2023 if funding becomes available.
