Are you passionate about our community? Do you want to share your enthusiasm with others while making a positive impact in Prescott? If so, consider volunteering at the Great River Road Visitor and Learning Center, Freedom Park. There’s always something new to learn and explore, making every day at the center and park an enriching experience. 

Located on the banks of the Mississippi River, the Great River Road Visitor and Learning Center, Freedom Park is a hub for travelers and locals alike. Whether you're guiding visitors through exhibits, answering questions about the area and the Great River Road, assisting with educational programs and events or helping out in the gardens, volunteering here is an opportunity to become an integral part of this vibrant center.

Volunteering at the Visitor and Learning Center provides many personal benefits. A chance to support a non-profit organization that brings learning and exploration into our community. Your chance to connect with our vibrant community and to socialize with likeminded individuals. What volunteers do

Volunteers at the center have a variety of responsibilities that can match different skill sets and interests. Some may enjoy interacting with visitors, providing them with maps, brochures, and tips on nearby attractions. Others may prefer to assist with educational programs and events or garden with our amazing Stewards of the Garden group.

 

How you can get involved

Getting started is easy! Simply visit the Great River Road Visitor and Learning Center or contact Executive Director Linda Schenk at linda.schenk@freedomparkwi.org to find out about current needs and schedules. Whether you’re available for a few hours a week or a few days a month, there’s a volunteer role that can fit your time and interests.

In addition to being a fulfilling experience for individuals, volunteering at the center can also be a great opportunity for groups, clubs, corporate volunteer groups, and families looking to give back to the community. It’s an opportunity to bond while doing meaningful work.
