At 1:30 p.m. Tuesday, July 29, join us for “A Trio of Blessings.” We will hear from three organizations in Ellsworth that are actively assisting individuals and families. Come learn about Salvation Army – Ellsworth, Heart, and Bethel’s Basement Blessings. Each of these organizations are improving the quality of life for families and individuals who need a helping hand. Come and learn more! Ice cream sundaes will be served following the presentations.

Because of Piety Street reconstruction, several of our events will be held at another location. Be sure to put Tuesday, Aug. 12 on your calendar and join us at Zion Covenant Church for a special visit with John Armbruster, author of “Tailspin.” WWII tail gunner Gene Moran fell four miles through the sky without a parachute and lived. Captured by the Germans, he survived a harrowing 18 months as a prisoner of war, including a 600-mile death march in 1945 across Central Europe. When he came home, he kept those memories locked up for nearly 70 years. He eventually agreed to be interviewed by John Armbruster. As Gene tells of his incredible tales and story of survival, his nightmares and grief returns. John also faces an incredible ordeal of his own as his wife is fighting brain cancer. “Tailspin” is more than a war story – it’s a story of two men’s separate journeys confronting trauma and loss. It’s a story of resilience and hope. Be sure to join us Tuesday, Aug. 12 at Zion Covenant Church, 210 N. Beulah St., Ellsworth for this amazing story.

Stay tuned to learn where Ellsworth Senior Center events will be held.
