We would like to invite people to join us for a celebration of our official status as a non-profit and progress made in the past year from 6-8 p.m. Aug. 25 at the Prescott History Center. We have come a long way in the past few years and many of the Chamber businesses in Prescott have been a big part of it as has the Lions Club, City Council, Prescott Foundation, and Pierce County.
This has allowed us to bring speakers to Prescott each month, provided the funds for printing, duplication, advertising, and bringing thousands to our local History Center. The building went from an eyesore to something to be proud of. And the weird sign on the back is gone. We are always looking for new members to help in our efforts to preserve and present Prescott’s fascinating history, so stop in for a snack and a chat.
We will provide foods of various types. The best thing that could happen is to have so many show up we run out. Egg rolls, homemade Salsa, Thai appetizers, pasta salad, chili and more are on the menu.
Our success is success for all of Prescott! Contact us at prescottahs@gmail.com or 715-531-8973.
We have a change in our speaker series schedule. On Saturday, Sept. 12, Captain Tom Struve has agreed to do two shows for us, at 1 p.m. and 3:30 p.m. as he will pack the house.
A Costume Ball? According to Mary Beeler and Dorothy Ahlgren, the Masquerade Ball held at the McCray building, now Twisted Oak and Corner Italian, and IOOF Hall were the events of the year with the costumed characters parading down Broad Street before the event started. Is it time to bring this event back? Stay tuned for details.
