“We look at it as that each athlete has to perform, you cannot control what others do, you have control over your performance,” said Syverson. “There is always that aspect as the season draws to its conclusion. I am happy that our seniors this year get to have closure with their high school career as last year's seniors did not get that opportunity. Seniors learn so much about themselves that they can carry with them into the future.”
“We have continued to practice at our regular time to make sure the athletes are prepared for the weather in the afternoon and to keep a schedule similar to if we were still in school,” said Bauschelt. “Between Monday and Thursday our conversations will be about trusting the work you have put in and believing in yourself and your ability, and no matter what, be proud of what you have accomplished!”
The WIAA State Track and Field Championships begin this Thursday, June 24 and will end on Saturday, June 26. The Wildcats will compete on Saturday, June 26 as Division 1 events will take place then.
