Neighbors saw a bright flash and felt their homes shake when an explosion and fire hit a River Falls home last Monday night.
A 75-year-old woman died, and her daughter was seriously injured. Two family dogs died as well.
The home was located in the 400 block of River Hills Road.
Martha Gausted died from injuries suffered in the explosion. Her daughter, Kari, was in stable condition last week.
Neighbors helped get the two out of the home just prior to the burning residence collapsing. They were taken to Regionals Hospital in St. Paul.
The accident remains under investigation, and utility crews checked nearby homes to make sure there were no problems there.
The incident is still under investigation.
