The Pierce County Board voted 11-5 at a special meeting Tuesday, Nov. 29 to authorize litigation against Sheriff Nancy Hove in order to “enforce, preserve and protect Pierce County’s rights regarding recruitment, hiring and promotion of sheriff’s office deputies.”

The trial of a Burnsville, Minn., woman charged with causing the deaths of Tayler Garza of Woodbury and Dalton Lee Ford of Burnsville is expected to wrap up mid-week at the Dakota County Courthouse in Hastings. Family and friends supporting the Garza and Ford families are hoping justice is served, as Camille Dennis-Bond faces up to 30 years in prison if convicted on all charges brought against her by prosecutors.
La Crosse County Circuit Court Judge Ramona Gonzalez dismissed the civil case brought against Sheriff Nancy Hove by Pierce County at a Dec. 9 hearing. Gonzalez said the individuals who initiated the suit did not have the authority to do so.

After seven hours of deliberation Tuesday and Wednesday, a jury found Camille Dennis-Bond, 20, of Burnsville, guilty of two counts of murder in the deaths of Tayler Nicole Garza and Dalton Lee Ford.
