PIERCE COUNTY Accident Reports

Police responded to a car vs. deer crash at 7:44 p.m. March 17 on Highway 72 one quarter-mile west of 190th Street in the town of Rock Elm. A 2020 GMC Acadia sheriff’s squad, driven by Collin Earl Gilles, 40, was traveling east on Highway 72 when it struck a deer. The vehicle had functional damage. Gilles, who wore a seat belt, reported no injuries.

Deputies responded to a one-vehicle crash at 9:01 p.m. March 17 on County Road F just north of 850th Avenue in the town of Clifton. A 2021 Ford Explorer Hudson Police Department squad, driven by Luke T. Radke, 28, Prescott, was traveling north on County Road F when a deer came running from the east and ran into the road from behind a fence. It ran straight into the vehicle, which had minor damage. Radke wore a seat belt and reported no injuries.

Officers responded to a hitand- run crash at 6:02 a.m. March 24 on Highway 29 just south of Sunview Drive in River Falls. A Dodge was traveling east on Highway 29 just west of 805th Avenue when it struck a guardrail end. The vehicle fled the scene. It was gray in color; officers found vehicle parts at the scene for a Dodge vehicle.

Pierce County Sheriff’s Office deputies responded to a one-vehicle rollover with injury at 7:23 p.m. Sunday, March 27 on County Road K east of 790th Street in the town of Trimbelle. A 1996 Honda Accord, driven by Francisco Rivera, 27, Red Wing, Minn., was traveling east on County Road K when it lost control, entered the north ditch and overturned. Rivera and passenger Cassy Hoven, 36, Ellsworth, were both trapped and extricated from the vehicle. Ellsworth Area Ambulance transported them both to Red Wing Mayo Hospital with undisclosed injuries. Ellsworth Fire also assisted at the scene.
