Officers responded to a three-vehicle pile-up at 6:36 a.m. Jan. 31 at State Highway 29 and 635th Avenue in the town of Clifton between a 2020 Lexus GX4, driven by Trisha Lynn Packard, 44, Prescott; a 2016 Jeep Cherokee driven by Dennis Lloyd Marchel, 74, River Falls; and a 2003 Chrysler Town & Country, driven by David Alan Nogle, 47, River Falls. Packard was heading east on Highway 29 and slowed in order to make a left-hand turn onto 635th Avenue. Marchel, who was following Packard, rear-ended her, then continued eastbound and collided with the rear driver’s side of Nogle’s vehicle, which was traveling westbound on Highway 29. Marchel, who wore a seat belt, was taken by ambulance to Regina Hospital in Hastings, Minn. with suspected minor injuries. Packard and Nogle both wore seat belts and reported no injuries. Packard’s and Marchel’s vehicles had to be towed due to disabling damage, while Nogle’s vehicle sported minor damage. Marchel was cited for inattentive driving.

Deputies responded to a two-vehicle crash at 3:52 p.m. Feb. 1 at State Highway 29 and 330th Street in the town of Gilman between a 2014 Toyota Corolla, driven by Elizabeth Mry Tessier, 60, Spring Valley, and a 2010 Pontiac G6, driven by Colin Marlowe Anderson, 17, Spring Valley. Tessier was heading north on 330th Street and stopped at the stop sign at Highway 29. She was going to turn left onto westbound Highway 29. Anderson was on westbound Highway 29 signaling to make a left turn onto southbound 330th Street. Tessier failed to yield and left the stop sign before Anderson cleared the intersection and struck his rear driver’s side. Both vehicles had minor damage. Both drivers wore seat belts and reported no injuries. Tessier was cited for fail/yield right-ofway from stop sign.

Police responded to a onevehicle crash at 6:13 p.m. Feb. 3 on 650th Street three-tenths of a mile south of 300th Avenue in the town of Hartland. A 2002 Oldsmobile, driven by Jordan Elizabeth Borst, 17, Ellsworth, was heading south when it went into the ditch and struck a fence. Borst wore a seat belt and reported no injuries. The vehicle had functional damage and was towed. Distracted driving may have been a factor.

Deputies responded to a one-vehicle crash at 1:42 a.m. Feb. 4 that had occurred at 10:30 a.m. Feb. 3 near N2112 County Road K in the town of Trenton. A 2004 Pontiac Grand Am, driven by Leah Marie Lee, 39, Ellsworth, was traveling northbound when it lost control, went into the right ditch, traveled through the ditch until it hit a driveway and mailbox, bounced back into the road, skidded sideways and entered the left ditch after spinning 180 degrees. The vehicle was towed and had functional damage. Lee reported no injuries and wore a seat belt. She was cited for failure to keep a vehicle under control and failure of operator to notify police of accident.

Police responded to a onevehicle crash at 12:53 p.m. Feb. 5 on private property at N6254 1340th St. in the town of Clifton. A 2009 Freightliner Corp agriculture commercial motor vehicle, driven by Donnell Nathaniel Guy, 32, Minneapolis, turned around in a private driveway that included a steep grade. The vehicle spun out on the snow-packed driveway and slid further down the driveway where it struck a tree. The vehicle had no damage but had to be towed out. Guy wore a seat belt and reported no injuries.

Officers responded to a one-vehicle crash at 10:39 a.m. Feb. 6 at State Highway 65 and 610th Avenue in the town of Ellsworth. A 2005 Ford F250, driven by Brady Allen Lunow, 25, Beldenville, was heading south on Highway 65 and negotiating a left curve when it began to slide on the slick road. It entered the east ditch and collided with a wooden stop sign. The vehicle was towed, but not due to disabling damage as the damage was minor. Lunow and passenger Scott Allen Lunow, 48, Brainerd, Minn., wore seat belts and reported no injuries.
