Police responded to a one-vehicle crash at 10:02 p.m. Dec. 6 on County Road O about a quarter-mile north of 501st Avenue in the town of Trimbelle. A 2012 Ford Fusion, driven by Allison Grace Marsh, 22, Hudson, had crashed near the Trimbelle Public Fishing Area. Marsh’s father reported the crash at 9:36 p.m. and said he had picked her up and was taking her to the hospital due to a headache. Police asked them to return to the scene after Marsh stated she was fine, which they did not. The vehicle’s registered owner told police via phone that she learned of the crash at 7:55 p.m. Police attempted to contact Marsh, her father and the vehicle’s owner several times without success and left voicemails. Seat belt use is unknown. The vehicle was towed due to disabling damage.

Officers responded to a two-vehicle crash at 3:35 p.m. Dec. 7 on Highway 65 just south of County Road J in the town of Ellsworth between a 2019 Chevrolet Traverse, driven by Gayle Bernice Knight, 44, Ellsworth, and a 2013 Peterbilt Glider straight truck, driven by Jeffrey David Murphy, 52, Hudson. Knight was traveling south on Highway 65 and lost control due to the weather, crossed the center line and struck the Peterbilt head on. She came to rest in the southbound lane of traffic, while Murphy parked on the northbound shoulder. Both drivers, who wore seat belts, refused EMS but had possible minor injuries. Both vehicles were towed. Knight’s had disabling damage while Murphy’s had functional damage.

Deputies responded to a one-vehicle crash at 12:59 p.m. Dec. 10 on Highway 35 just south of 370th Avenue in the town of Diamond Bluff. A 2004 Toyota Camry, driven by Jacob Walter Kvanbek, 22, Red Wing, Minn., was traveling south on Highway 35 during a snow storm. Kvanbek lost control and entered the south ditch, where he struck several trees and large rocks. He wore a seat belt and reported no injuries. The vehicle was towed due to disabling damage.

Police responded to a two-vehicle crash at 1:08 p.m. Dec. 10 at Highway 35 and 370th Street in the town of Diamond Bluff between a 2022 Blub School Bus (Prescott School District), driven by Aaron David Marshall, 45, Prescott, and a 2019 Mini Cooper, driven by Mary Lynn Kenknight, 60, Maple Grove, Minn. The school bus was traveling south on Highway 35 and slowed due to the snow storm and a law enforcement vehicle along the road with its emergency lights on. Kenknight was traveling behind the bus and attempted to slow down also, but due to snow on the road, slid and rear-ended the bus. Both drivers wore seat belts and reported no injuries. No children were on the bus. The bus had functional damage, while Kenknight’s vehicle was towed due to disabling damage.

Deputies responded to a vehicle vs. mailbox crash at 12:41 p.m. Dec. 14 at W3528 850th Ave. in the town of Gilman. A 2009 Chevrolet Avo, driven by Dylan Mitchell Bune, 22, Spring Valley, was heading east on 850th Avenue when it entered a patch of slush on the edge of the road. The vehicle began rotating to the left, so the Bune said he turned the wheel to the right. The vehicle then began rotating clockwise, left the road and hit the mailbox before coming to rest in the deep snow facing northwest at the south edge of the road. Bune, who wore a seat belt, reported no injuries. The vehicle had functional damage.

Officers responded to a truck vs. cow crash at 7:05 a.m. Dec. 15 on 690th Street about 0.44 miles south of 410th Avenue in the town of Hartland. A 2007 Chevrolet Silverado, driven by Brady Lee Keepers, 34, Ellsworth, was heading north on 690th Street in heavy fog when it collided with a live cow in the road. The cow walked away and Keepers, who wore a seat belt, reported no injuries. A 6year-old passenger, who was in a child restraint system, had no apparent injuries. The truck had functional damage to the front-end. The cow belongs to Isaac Daniel Freier, Ellsworth.

Deputies responded to a two-vehicle crash at 4:18 p.m. Dec. 15 on Highway 35 just east of 135th Avenue in the town of Isabelle between a 2005 Chevrolet Colorado, driven by Jesse Eugene Hughes, 36, Ellsworth, and a 2019 Ram 1500, driven by Jeremy David Miller, 50, Pepin. Hughes was traveling south on Highway 35 and didn’t see traffic slow in front of him; he struck the rear of Miller’s truck. Both drivers wore seat belts and reported no injuries. Both trucks had functional damage and were drivable.

Officers responded to a two-vehicle crash at 10:53 a.m. Dec. 17 on US Highway 10 at County Road E in the town of Oak Grove between a 2011 Chevrolet Malibu, driven by Naomi Dolton, 21, Racine, Minn., and a 2019 Chevrolet Express Van, driven

by James Bigott, 29, Elmwood. Dolton was turning northbound on County Road E from US Highway 10 when Bigott, who was eastbound, rear-ended her vehicle. Dolton had to be extricated from the Malibu by Prescott Fire Department. Allina Ambulance Service transported her to Regions Hospital in St. Paul with undisclosed injuries. An ambulance transported Bigott to Regina Hospital in Hastings, Minn., with undisclosed injuries. Prescott Fire, Allina Ambulance and Wisconsin State Patrol assisted PCSO at the scene.

Police responded to a one-vehicle crash at 10:16 p.m. Dec. 18 on 825th Street just south of US Highway 63 in the town of Trenton. A 2001 Dodge Dakota, driven by Christopher Allen King, 32, Red Wing, Minn., was traveling north on 825th Street and swerving. King lost control, slid sideways and went off the road into the ditch, where he struck a rock causing the truck to roll on its side. King, who wore a seat belt, had to be extricated from the truck; he reported possible injuries. The vehicle had to be towed due to disabling damage. King was arrested and/or cited for OWI, operating while revoked (alcohol related) and failure to keep vehicle under control.

Deputies responded to a one-vehicle crash at 9:38 a.m. Dec. 19 near N4380 Highway 35 in the town of Oak Grove. A 2001 Chevrolet Tracker, driven by Richard William Perkins, 63, Prescott, was traveling north on Highway 35 when it left the road, entered the east ditch, continued through the ditch, struck several large trees and came to rest on the passenger side against multiple trees. Perkins, who wore no seat belt, died at the scene. The vehicle was towed due to disabling damage. Alcohol use is suspected.

Officers responded to a one-vehicle crash at 11:21 p.m. Dec. 19 on Highway 35 almost one mile north of 468th Avenue in the town of Oak Grove. A 2009 Pontiac G6, driven by Sydney Jo Griebling, 20, Red Wing, Minn., was heading south on Highway 35. Griebling said she saw a vehicle coming at her with its brights on, so she braked, hit an icy spot and lost control of the vehicle. It entered the ditch and spun, hitting a couple of small trees before it stopped. Griebling and her passenger, Matthew Andrew Seamans, 20, Red Wing, Minn., both wore seat belts and reported no injuries. The car was towed due to disabling damage.
