Deputies responded to a motorcycle crash at 4:25 p.m. Nov. 6 on County Road H just east of 110th Avenue in the town of Maiden Rock. A 2004 Honda VT750, operated by Alexander Duane Jackson, 27, Zumbrota, Minn., was traveling with a small group of riders heading westbound on County Road H approaching the stop sign at County Road S. The motorcycles in front of Jackson began to slow for the stop sign. It appeared to a witness and from marks on the road that Jackson’s brakes locked up. He skidded for some distance, overturned and was ejected. The Honda came to rest on the south side of the road, while Jackson landed on the north side. Jackson, who was not wearing a helmet, was airlifted to Saint Mary’s Hospital in Rochester, Minn., with suspected serious injuries. The motorcycle was towed with functional damage.

Officers responded to a two-vehicle crash at 7:22 p.m. Nov. 12 at County Road O and 480th Avenue in the town of Trimbelle between a 2014 Cadillac SRX, driven by Daniel Charles Morth, 58, Ellsworth, and a 2015 Chevrolet Impala, driven by Kimberly Ann David, 52, Shakopee, Minn. Morth was heading northbound on County Road O and negotiating a sharp curve to the left when David struck the front left corner of his vehicle. David, who was heading southbound on County Road, had driven straight and eastbound through the curved intersection towards 480th Avenue. She said she thought Morth had a stop sign. Both drivers wore seat belts and reported no injuries. Both vehicles had functional damage but didn’t need to be towed. David was cited for failure to yield the right-of-way.

Deputies responded to a one-vehicle crash at 10:43 p.m. Nov. 13 on Highway 35 just west of Wabash Street/County Road EE in Bay City. A 2016 General Motors SRA utility truck, driven by Timothy Lee Niedfeldt, 65, Hager City, was traveling north on Highway 35 when he lost control on the snow-covered road, crossed the center line and struck a utility pole. The vehicle kept going and got stuck on the railroad tracks. Niedfeldt was able to get the truck off the tracks and to safety before police arrived. He wore a seat belt and reported no injuries, but the truck was towed due to disabling damage. Niedfeldt was cited for failure to keep vehicle under control.

Police responded to a one-vehicle crash at 11:56 p.m. Nov. 13 on Highway 65 just west of 760th Avenue in the town of River Falls. A 2005 Honda CRV, driven by Ian Jon Todnem, 26, Alma, was heading northbound on Highway 65 when it lost control on snow/slush covered road, entered the northbound ditch and drove over a field road before coming to a stop. Todnem wore a seat belt and reported no injuries. The vehicle was towed due to disabling damage.

Officers responded to a one-vehicle rollover at 12:19 a.m. Nov. 14 on Highway 29 one-third mile west of 620th Street in the town of Martell. A 2019 Jeep Compass, driven by Nicole Erin Crusing, 25, Jim Falls, was heading eastbound on Highway 29 when it lost control on the snow/slush-covered road and entered the ditch. Before coming to a stop, the vehicle rolled once and landed back on its tires. Crusing and passenger Kaysi Cathryn Rixmann, 26, Spring Valley, wore seat belts and exited the vehicle without injuries. The vehicle was towed due to disabling damage.

Police responded to a one-vehicle crash at 4:26 a.m. Nov. 14 at 770th Avenue and County Road W in the town of River Falls. A 2006 Chevrolet Impala, driven by Jennifer Susan Hammer, 24, River Falls, was traveling eastbound on 770th Avenue, failed to stop for the stop assign at the intersection with County Road W, drove into the east ditch on W and struck a utility pole. Hammer drove out of the ditch and continued eastbound on 770th Avenue and left the scene. After collecting a witness statement and photos, police located her and the vehicle later, at which time she was cited for fail/stop at stop sign, failure to keep vehicle under control and failure of operator to notify police of accident. Hammer wore a seat belt and reported no injuries. The vehicle had functional damage. Alcohol use was suspected.
