PIERCE COUNTY Accident Reports

Police were called to a vehicle vs. tree crash at 11:20 a.m. Sept. 25 on 750th Avenue about one-half mile east of 490th Street in the town of Gilman. A 2013 Kia Optima, driven by Alyssa Angeline Duchnowski, 16, Ellsworth, was traveling westbound on 770thAvenue, a gravel road. Marks in the gravel indicate the vehicle came around a curve and up a hill before it entered the north ditch and hit a large tree. A passerby found the vehicle unoccupied. Duchnowski wore a seat belt and reported no injuries. The vehicle was towed due to disabling damage.

Officers responded to a two-vehicle crash at 12:40 p.m. Oct. 6 on County Road A just west of U.S. Highway 10 in the town of Salem between a 2021 Hyundai Tucson, driven by

William George Johnston, 73, River Falls, and a Caterpillar, operated by Jon Paul Kusch, 55, Prescott. Kusch was attempting to back up into the gravel on the side of the road in an attempt to turn around. While backing up, he didn’t see Johnston behind him and the Caterpillar’s front left corner struck the Tucson’s right front corner. Both drivers wore seat belts and reported no injuries.

Sandra Lee Johnston, 74, River Falls, a passenger in the Tucson, also wore a seat belt and reported no injuries. The Caterpillar had no damage while the Tucson had functional damage.

Deputies responded to a one-vehicle crash at 9:46 a.m. Oct. 11 on County Road FF just west of 1090th Street in the town of Clifton. A 2012 Toyota Camry, driven by Amy Elizabeth Freeman, 49, River Falls, was negotiating a curve while heading westbound on County Road FF when a deer came out of the south ditch. Freeman swerved to the right to avoid the deer, left the roadway, entered the north ditch, drove over 1094th Street and struck a street sign post. The car then ended up in a corn field owned by Jeffrey Charles Most, Prescott. Freeman wore a seat belt and reported no injuries. The vehicle was towed due to disabling damage.

Officers responded to a one-vehicle crash at 10:40 p.m. Oct. 12 on State Road 128 one mile south of County Road B in the town of Spring Lake. A 2017 Ford Fiesta, driven by Eve Michelle Dotson, 20, Elmwood, was heading northbound on Highway 128. Dotson lost control of the vehicle due to excessive speed, crossed the center line, entered the west ditch, attempted to re-enter the roadway and overturned the vehicle in the northbound traffic lane. Dotson wore a seat belt and reported no injuries. The vehicle was towed due to disabling damage. Dotson was cited for failure to keep vehicle under control.

Police responded to a one-vehicle crash at 5:50 p.m. Oct. 13 on U.S. Highway 63 just south of 825th Street in the town of Trenton. A 2015 Chevrolet Malibu, driven by Holly Ann Bremer, 29, Red Wing, Minn., was heading southbound on Highway 63, went off the roadway across the right shoulder, and struck a guardrail end on the start of a bridge. The vehicle stopped 50-75 feet from where it went off the road. Bremer wore a seat belt and reported no injuries. The vehicle was towed due to disabling damage.

Deputies were called to a one-vehicle crash at 1:41 a.m. Oct. 14 at County Road FF and Greenwood Valley Drive in the town of River Falls. A third party notified police of the accident. A 2013 Ford Focus, driven by Bradley Joseph Hetchler, 30, River Falls, was traveling southbound on Greenwood Valley Drive when it appeared he failed to stop for the stop sign, skidded across the intersection, jumped the ditch and came to a rest in the weeds. Hetchler refused to talk to police without a lawyer present. Hetchler was not wearing a seat belt and reported suspected minor injuries. The vehicle was towed due to disabling damage. Hetchler was cited OWI.

Officers responded to a two-vehicle crash at 3:20 p.m. Oct. 15 on U.S. Highway 63 at State Highway 29’s north intersection in the town of Martell between a 2012 Chevrolet Impala, driven by Trevor Tuenge, 19, Elmwood, and a 2016 Kia Forte, driven by Michele Goblirsch, 53, Hudson. Tuenge was heading east bound on Highway 29 when he failed to stop at a stop sign and collided with Goblirsch’s vehicle, which was heading south on Highway 63. Ellsworth Area Ambulance transported Goblirsch to Western Wisconsin Health in Baldwin with undisclosed injuries. Spring Valley Area Ambulance transported Tuenge to Western Wisconsin Health with undisclosed injuries. Ellsworth Fire also assisted at the scene.
