LETTERS to the Editor
To the editor,
As someone who cares very much about the environment, I plan to vote for Alison Page for state assembly on Nov. 8.
I know she cares about the health of our land and water, including our rivers, lakes, wetlands and shorelines and she recognizes the importance of these ecosystems to our quality of life. Healthy ecosystems are vital to the support of all native plants and animals including humans who enjoy these resources for kayaking, swimming, fishing and hunting. We all rely on accessible, clean drinking water. Our region attracts people because of its natural beauty, clean air, and clean water.
Alison served on the Kinnickinnic River Land Trust (KRLT) board of directors for 12 years. She chaired the board as it purchased 40 acres of property along the precious Kinni River to preserve it in perpetuity as a community forest. Alison will stand up for us as these resources are threatened. We have a right to protect them. Her opponent voted to take local control away from our towns, cities, and counties. Alison will work to reverse that wrong direction.
