The Wisconsin Association of Fairs announced statewide award winners at its annual convention Jan. 12 in Wisconsin Dells. Recipients of the V.I.P. Award, Outstanding Fair Person Award, Hall of Fame Award and Volunteer Group Appreciation Award were recognized for their outstanding commitment to Wisconsin Fairs and contributions made to each of their county and district fairs.

Andrew Kiefer from Beldenville was the V.I.P. Award winner for District II, the northwest part of Wisconsin. For all of you who love and enjoy the Pierce County Fair, you may not know that Kiefer is a behind-the-scenes contributor to its continued success every summer. For those of you who know Kiefer, it shouldn’t be a surprise that he received the V.I.P. Award. The V.I.P. Award is presented to a non-fair board member or non-committee member with no specific length of service.

In part of the nomination for the award, it was stated “Andrew is willing to give up a lot of personal and business time to help make the Fair and the Fairgrounds a better place. He has been instrumental in many large and numerous improvements at the fairgrounds such as a new pen project for the swine/goat/sheep in the Drewiske Barn, concreting the entire Drewiske Barn, expanding the poultry/rabbit barn in 2019 and in 2021 adding a lean-to addition onto the Drewiske Barn to house the new livestock scale.”

Former Pierce County Fair Manager Ann Webb said, “The Pierce County Fair couldn’t be more pleased and prouder that Andrew was recognized for his unselfish contributions to the premier event of the summer – the Pierce County Fair. Congratulations Andrew for being selected by your peers for the V.I.P. Award! Thank you for all that you have done and we know you will continue to do!”
