Arlene L. Parsons, age 99 of Plum City, died Tuesday, Jan. 9, 2024, at the Plum City Care Center in Plum City.

Arlene was born on Oct. 23, 1924 on the home farm on the East Hill of Plum City. She was the youngest child of eight children of Joseph and Katherine (Gilles) Tschumperlin. Arlene grew up in Plum City, attended St. John’s Catholic School and graduated from Plum City High School. After high school, Arlene married Ray Parsons on April 18, 1944. After marriage, Arlene and Ray lived and raised their family in Plum City. Arlene was first and foremost a homemaker and loved her family. She also worked with Ray as a bookkeeper for Plum City Oil and later in the lunchroom at St. John’s Catholic School.

Arlene enjoyed traveling seeing friends and family across the country. Most of all, Arlene loved spending time with her family.

Arlene is survived by her children Lynn (Gloria) of River Falls, Kathie Harpel of Cottage Grove, Minn., Jerry (Carol) of Eau Claire, Robert (Teresa) of Eau Claire and Lisa (Brad) Haering of Chaska, Minn., 16 grandchildren, 19 great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Ray, daughter Susanne (Ralph) Setterlund, son Mark and her siblings.

Memorial Mass will be 11 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 20, 2024 at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in Plum City with Rev. John Zweber officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery at a later date. Visitation will be held from 10 a.m. until the time of services at the church on Saturday. A Celebration of Life will be held at Molly’s on Main following the Mass.
