Betty Lou Willett, a beloved resident of Ellsworth, Wis., passed away at the Ellsworth Care Center on Sept. 19, 2023, at the age of 90. Betty was born on Sept. 17, 1933, to loving parents Earl and Margaret (Mascotti) Dressley in St. Paul, Minn.

Betty was a remarkable woman whose life was defined by her unwavering love for her family and friends. She had a special way of expressing her affection, and that was through her talent for baking. Betty’s kitchen was a place of warmth and comfort, where she lovingly crafted delicious treats for all her loved ones. Each cookie, cake, and pie were a heartfelt gesture, a way for her to show just how much she cared.

Betty possessed a vivacious and outgoing personality that drew people to her like a magnet. Her bubbling spirit and friendly nature made her a joy to be around, and she formed lasting bonds with everyone she met. Betty’s ability to connect with others made her an indispensable presence in her community.

One of Betty’s most cherished activities was visiting the local nursing home, where she shared her homemade meals with the residents. This act of kindness brought comfort and joy to those who lived there, especially when her beloved husband had to stay at the facility. Betty’s generosity knew no bounds, and her compassion touched the lives of many.

Betty was immensely proud of her 40 years of sobriety, a testament to her strength and determination. Her journey with Alcoholics Anonymous not only transformed her life but also inspired those who knew her. She served as a source of hope and encouragement to others who were on a similar path to recovery.

A dedicated sports enthusiast, Betty was a fervent Minnesota Vikings fan. She never missed a game and reveled in watching her favorite team play. Her passion for the sport was infectious, and she shared many memorable moments with family and friends as they cheered for the Vikings together.

Betty Lou Willett leaves behind a legacy of love, generosity, and resilience. She will be dearly missed by her family, friends, and all those whose lives she touched.

She is survived by her children: Timothy Willett, Michelle Haselman, Troy Willett, and son-in-law, Peter White; grandchildren: Amanda and Holly White; sisters Marilyn (Harold) Buss and Jean (Greg) Peterson. Betty is preceded in death by her beloved husband Ronald; daughter Susan White; her parents Earl and Margaret Dressley, and sister Rosmary Olson.

A Funeral Service for Betty will be held at 1 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 24, 2023, at Our Saviors Lutheran: N6450 530th St. Beldenville, WI 54003. A visitation will start at noon until the service. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made in her memory to the Alzheimer’s Association of America or the American Cancer Society.

Betty’s light will continue to shine in the hearts of those she leaves behind. Her memory will forever be a reminder of the power of love, compassion, and the joy of sharing life’s precious moments.
