The Busy Fingers 4-H Club Annual Achievement Banquet was held on Sunday, Oct. 8. We began with a welcome and invocation by Club Leader Shari Turvaville. We ate dinner and then began the program with the Pledge of Allegiance and the 4-H pledge led by Adelaide Berg. The flags were held by Michaela Petersen and Adelaide and Michael Petersen held the words to the 4-H Pledge.

The flashback, which is a summary of everything that our club did the past year was read by Jocelyn Boyle and Mya Petersen. It was compiled using many quotes from member’s record book activity stories.

County Project Award winners Skyler Johnson - Exploring, Samantha Augustine - Sheep, Joy Turvaville - Vet Science/Small Animals, Andrea Esterby - Personal Development and Joycelyn Boyle - Youth Leadership were recognized and awarded project pins. The County Outstanding Member Award nominees were acknowledged. Award winners will be recognized at the County Awards Program on Nov. 5.

First- and fifth-year members were recognized and received pins. They are Skyler Johnson, Aven Penman and Braylyn Vodinelich for first year and five-year members are Holt Jacobson, Kaia Jacobson, Maryanne Petersen, Levi Sears, Linnea Sears, and Lydia Sears. Graduating member Dawson Peters received his Alumni pin.

Grace Turvaville received a certificate for Perfect Attendance, Linnea Sears and Joy Turvaville for missing only one meeting. Reese & Max Mandelkow received a certificate and gummy worms as a prize for the Early Bird Award. They were the first to turn in their completed 4-H Record Books and as we all know, the early bird gets the worm. An Honorable Mention Early Bird and worms were also given to Quinn Emery. Members with the Best Record Books were Jocelyn Boyle, Grace Turvaville and Joy Turvaville. Honorable Mention Best Record Book went to Ben Boyle, Julia Boyle, Max Mandelkow, Reese Mandelkow, and Skyler Johnson. Wow, we had a lot of great books! The Big “E” Award for being the Editor of the Best 4-H Activity Story went to Joy Turvaville. Honorable mention was also awarded to Dawson Peters and Nevaeh Peters. Joe Emery was awarded for having the best Member Project Evaluation (MPE) forms. The Cloverbuds were recognized and then Member Achievement Certificates were handed out to all 2022-23 achieving club members for the number of years that they have been enrolled and successfully achieved in 4-H!

Our new club officers for the 2023-24 4-H Club year were then installed. They are President Jocelyn Boyle, Vice President Mya Petersen, Secretary Grace Turvaville, Treasurer Miles Petersen, and Reporter  Nevaeh Peters.
