RIVER FALLS – With the upcoming weather in store for the community, the River Falls Fire Department is asking all community members to “adopt a fire hydrant” near their property. When a fire occurs, every second counts. When a fire hydrant is buried under snow and ice, valuable time is lost putting out the fire and rescuing trapped individuals and pets when firefighters have to take time to shovel out the fire hydrant so they can get their water supply. Please help protect yourself and your neighbors by shoveling a threefoot clear path and radius around your closest fire hydrant and a path to the street.
