Disco Knights Gala, 6 p.m., The Old Ptacek’s Event Center (1449 Orrin Road, Prescott). A flashback to the 70s with Disco Knights. Enjoy a night out with dinner, dancing, photo booth, live and silent auction, and cash bar. Proceeds benefit a bathroom renovation, principal discretion and teacher grants at St. Joseph Parish School in Prescott. Sunday, Jan. 30 Learn to Snowshoe, 1 p.m., Kinnickinnic State Park (W11983 820th Ave., River Falls). Drop in anytime 1-3 p.m. Meet in the parking lot that connects to the pink and blue hiking trails. Friends of the Kinnickinnic and Willow River State Parks will provide basic instruction on how to snowshoe. Cost is $5. Limited number of snowshoes to use. Park admission also required.
Annual Right to Life Sunday Breakfast, 9 a.m. to 12:30 p.m., Sacred Heart of Jesus Catholic Church – Brother Michael Center, Spring Valley. French toast, scrambled eggs, sausage, doughnuts, muffins, fresh fruit and beverages will be served at the 15th annual breakfast. Dine-in or takeout available; donations accepted. A great, fun-filled afternoon with many games and activities centered around this year’s carnival theme – Travel the World! Try your luck at raffles, silent auctions and raffle tickets; prizes include $3,000 cash, $1,000 cash, Smart TV, Blackstone Griddle, iRobot, Ring Security System and more. All proceeds go to St. Francis School.
Wednesday, Feb. 9 Ellsworth Blood Drive, 12-6 p.m., Seyforth Building, Pierce County Fairgrounds (364 N. Maple St., Ellsworth). The American Red Cross will host a community blood drive. Participants will receive a $10 Amazon gift card (by email). Donations by appointment only; sign up at bit.ly/EllsworthWI. Walkins not accepted. Masks must be worn. Arrive at your scheduled appointment time; complete a Paid Pass the morning of the drive, in order to speed up the process by going to www.redcrossblood.org Saturday, Feb. 12 Winter Wonders Hike, 1 p.m., Kinnickinnic State Park (W11983 820th Ave., River Falls). Meet at the external parking lot on 770th Avenue off County Road F. Join the naturalist and discover one of her favorite winter hiking trails. The 3-mile hike goes through several different habitats and offers beautiful, ridge-top views of the Kinnickinnic. Dress for the weather and bring along water, good hiking boots and binoculars. The event is free but park vehicle admission is required. If you want to rent snowshoes, call 715-869-3695 or email [email protected] at least two days in advance.
Drive-Thru Steak Dinner, 4-7 p.m., St. Paul’s United Church of Christ (W5706 Highway 72, Ellsworth). Meal includes grilled steak, baked potato, special green beans, salad, homemade buns and dessert.
