The Eau Galle Rush River Sportsman’s Club held its 46th annual trout fishing contest on May 7, 2022 at the Ellsworth Rod & Gun Club. The weather the day of the contest was awesome for fishing or just being outside. There were even a few people testing the water temperature.

We have many people to thank for supporting our sportsman’s club for all these years. Trout have dropped in size through the years, although it seems to be good number for what we have going. Now it seems that it’s better fishing fly fishing than bait faithing. I also don’t see the camps along the river like I used to.

This year’s contest had 49 trout registered. Congratulations to all the winners! A big thank you to Jack Hines for calling our auction. To tall those who bought ads on the flyer and who bought tickets, thank you. And thank you to everyone who donated auction items.
