Ellsworth hosts last night of its Summer Fun Series for 2021

ELLSWORTH – On Thursday, Sept. 30, the Ellsworth E3 Community Development Corporation held the last Summer Fun Series event. Starting in June, E3, the Ellsworth Area Chamber and local organizations held an event each week in East End Park, featuring local businesses, live music, a farmers market and family friendly activities.

Ellsworth Public Library and Ellsworth High School Future Farmers of America (FFA) sponsored the last get together of the summer. Other organizations in attendance included the Cairns Woods Trails Initiative, local food trucks Smokey Treats and Pita Pit and featured live music from Tony Cuchetti.

Elise Gregory from Ellsworth E3 Community Development Corporation said, “We will definitely be doing something like this again next year; it might look a little different but this was a great event to look forward to each week this summer.”

At the beginning of summer, the organization made sure to use the Public Health large group gathering model for COVID-19 precautions and was able to hold an event each week featuring new local organizations.

The last week also coordinated with the farmers market, also a weekly East End Park mainstay, and allowed local vendors to showcase and sell their food, crafts and other items to the community. One vendor in attendance, K and A pumpkin patch, highlighted their assortment of pumpkins in time for fall and gave information to the community about fall events they will hold at the pumpkin patch.

The Ellsworth Trails Group also highlighted the work they have been doing over the summer. The ribbon cutting of the Cairns Woods Trails will take place at 4:30 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 7 and is open to the
