Teentober Virtual Teen Event

The Ellsworth Public Library is partnering with the Augusta, Ladysmith, Park Falls, and Rice Lake public libraries to host a Teentober Virtual Event. The free virtual event will take place on Friday, October 30, beginning at 6:00 PM and ending around 11:00 PM. The event is geared for students ages 12-18 years with pre-registration required at bit.ly/Teentober20. Register before October 23 to receive a free grab bag with candy, snacks and crafting supplies, while supplies last.

According to the American Library Association (ALA), “ TeenTober is a new, nationwide celebration hosted by libraries every October and aims to celebrate teens, promote year-round teen services and the innovative ways teen services helps teens learn new skills, and fuel their passions in and outside the library.”

The local, virtual Teentober event will include a pumpkin decorating challenge (pumpkins will be provided), Dustin Pari will present an hour long program entitled “Halloween: A Haunted History,” there will be a couple of creepy crafts to make, a digital escape room, a spooky scavenger hunt, a candy art challenge and Hocus Pocus Trivia. The event is intended for teens from Augusta, Ellsworth, Ladysmith, Park Falls and Rice Lake but other teens are welcome to register but may not be eligible to receive a grab bag. Prize drawings and other giveaways will be held throughout the evening. Students are encouraged to dress up in a Halloween costume if they would like to.
