The following incidents were reported to Ellsworth Police Department Sept. 21 through Oct. 2.

Wednesday, Sept. 21

A caller reported a vehicle vs. light pole crash at 6:42 a.m. at 312 Panther Drive. When police arrived, the driver of the 2019 Honda Insight was not on the scene. The vehicle had heavy front-end damage and was smashed against the pole. Officers made contact with the driver, Samantha Rae Hoium Schultz, 21, Ellsworth, at her apartment. She smelled of intoxicants and admitted to crashing the vehicle at 1 or 2 a.m. She said she left the scene because “there was literally nothing I could do.” She said she’d been on the way to pick up a friend for softball league and doesn’t remember much after that. She thought she had three or four seltzer drinks. Due to being past the four-hour threshold for an OWI arrest, Schultz wasn’t put through field sobriety tests. However, she registered a .257 BAC at 7:47 a.m. The vehicle was towed due to disabling damage. Schultz was cited for hit and run and failure of occupant to notify police of an accident.

Monday, Sept. 26

Police responded to a two-vehicle crash at 7:46 a.m. in the 100 block of West Main Street between Jyllian Rodriguez, 16, Ellsworth, and KayLee Krogstad, 19, Maiden Rock. Rodriguez attempted to make a left turn out of the McDonald’s driveway and struck Krogstad, who was traveling west on Main Street. Neither driver reported injuries.

At 9:37 a.m., officers responded to a 911 call at 454 Highpoint Drive. They knocked on every door but heard no knocking on the open 911 call. Police also activated the siren, which was not heard by dispatch on the open call. Sprint advised the number in inactive. Due to the ongoing issue, police contacted the FBI field office.

At 10:14 a.m., a woman at 454 Highpoint Drive called police to complain that an officer had knocked on her door.

Officers responded at 11:30 a.m. to Holiday (456 W. Main St.) for disorderly people who had left in a green Buick. The store manager said the couple was upset because they hadn’t qualified for a discount after pumping only $7.20 in gas; they didn’t meet the 3-gallon minimum required. Witnesses said the couple was verbally aggressive, vulgar and loud, causing a disturbance. The man dumped coffee on the counter toward the employee. The couple denied any wrongdoing and blamed the employee. Kathleen Dickson, 60, Backus, and Michael Samuel, 67, Roberts, will be cited by mail for disorderly conduct.

Another open 911 call from 454 Highpoint Drive was received at 1:43 p.m.

At 1:57 p.m., Landmark Company (141 S. Maple St.) requested Tejay A. Skordahl, 38, Ellsworth, be trespassed from their apartment building. Police served him the notice.

Tuesday, Sept. 27

Officers responded to a two-vehicle crash at 7:58 a.m. in the 300 block of West Elm Street between Elizabeth Paparelli, 17, River Falls, and Daniel Unser,

69, Ellsworth. Paparelli was heading east on Elm Street, while Unser was traveling west out of the bus garage parking lot to the Elm and Park streets intersection. Paparelli sideswiped the driver’s side of Unser’s vehicle. She said she didn’t see him because of the sun in her eyes. Both vehicles sustained damage; Paparelli’s was towed. Neither driver reported injuries.

Wednesday, Sept. 28

At 7:13 p.m., a mother reported a suspicious man who was at East End Park at 6 p.m. while she was there with her child. The man, described as stocky, with glasses, short blond hair and 6 feet tall, brought two children to the park. The woman said he was overly friendly and told her son not to listen to her a few times. She asked for extra patrol.

Thursday, Sept. 29 Brady Blodgett, 20, Maiden Rock, was arrested for possess drug paraphernalia and misdemeanor bail jumping (two counts) after a traffic stop for a cracked windshield and no front plate at 5:14 p.m. at Highway 10 and County Road C.

Alfredo Apolonio Perez-

Goplen, 33, Ellsworth, was arrested for possession of THC and possess drug paraphernalia after a traffic stop for speeding at 6:55 p.m. in the 100 block of East Main Street.

Friday, Sept. 30

At 9:06 a.m., a complainant reported 15 five-gallon buckets illegally dumped next to a dumpster at 191 E. Main St.

At 9:21 a.m., an employee at Pierce Veterinary Clinic (707 N. Brown St.) reported a customer threatening staff. The woman was trespassed from the business; the owner wanted the situation documented.

At 2:37 p.m., a caller reported fraud that had occurred at 760 W. Crest Lane involving about $10,000 to $12,000 in gift cards.

A caller reported a group of kids fighting at 3:43 p.m. near Main and Piety streets. Police drove by and saw a group of kids, but no fighting.

At 6:02 p.m., a child couldn’t find their parents at Ellsworth High School (323 Hillcrest St.) Police located the mother at home, who came to pick up the child.

At 10 a.m., police received four 911 calls mapping from the area of 454 Highpoint Drive. Nothing was observed in the area.

Saturday, Oct. 1

At 7:30 p.m., a woman reported loud pounding on her window at 680 W. Lucas Lane, followed by possible gunshots. Police observed nothing out of the usual when they arrived, but agreed to provide extra patrol.

Sunday, Oct. 2

At 2:16 a.m., someone reported seeing a man in pajamas pushing a two-wheeled dolly at Main and Grant streets. He wasn’t located.

Austin Lee Welch, 27, Ellsworth, was arrested for domestic disorderly conduct after police were called to a disturbance at 2:24 a.m. at 267 E. Main St.

Police responded at 7:13 p.m. to 454 Highpoint Drive for a report of a woman throwing a football at a vehicle. When the police arrived, the suspect was gone. The complainant was worried the woman would damage her vehicle.
