ELLSWORTH Police Department Reports

The following incidents were reported to Ellsworth Police Department Sept. 1218.

Monday, Sept. 12 Cody Williams, 27, Ellsworth, was arrested for a probation violation at 4:25 p.m. at 310 W. Main St.

At 7:10 p.m., police located a local man with a shopping cart near Strickland and Piety streets. The man said he’d gotten the cart from a friend’s house, where there were three more. He was told to return the cart to Nilssen’s. Police made contact with the friend, who said a Nilssen’s manager had given him permission to take the cart back and forth between the store and his house. The manager advised four carts were missing; the friend returned three carts and was told he could longer use carts to go to his house.

Tuesday, Sept. 13

A caller reported repeated harassment from a neighbor at 7:51 a.m. at 141 S. Maple St. He said another neighbor keeps banging on his walls and door and asking him about a miscarriage. The neighbor said she believed a woman had had a miscarriage in the man’s apartment. She was told to cease contact and that if the other residents needed help, they would call police.

Wednesday, Sept. 14

A caller reported a suspicious man on a bike at 11:38 a.m. near Maple and Kinne streets. The suspect said he was looking for his lost phone.

Police were called at 3:36 p.m. to a home in the 300 block of West Hillcrest Street, where a man was having a seizure and bleeding. When police arrived to assist EMS, the bleeding had stopped and the man was alert.

Police responded at 4:56 p.m. to the Pierce County Office Building (412 W. Kinne St.) for a woman who refused to leave the building until someone could get her help with childcare resources. She was unsatisfied with the offerings available and eventually left.

At 7:15 p.m., police warned a man for digging through dumpsters at Pierce County Courthouse (414 W. Main St.)

Thursday, Sept. 15

At 8:01 a.m., a caller reported that someone had been parked all night at 229 W. Main St. The driver said she slept in her car and is looking for work.

A caller reported a suspicious truck parked at the East End Laundromat at 8:08 a.m. Police located the truck near Morse Street and Railroad Avenue at the storage facility. Travis Boman,

42, homeless, was cited for operating while suspended.

An officer witnessed Paul Hempel, 69, Ellsworth, back a Jeep into a parked Buick at 3:57 p.m. at 157 E. Main St. The crash was documented.

Police conducted a welfare check on a woman walking home at 7:42 p.m. near Grant and Kinne streets. The woman said she’d had “a few too many” but denied EMS or assistance.

Friday, Sept. 16

Police found the hazard lights on on some heavy equipment at 3:12 a.m. in the 300 block of West Kinne Street but no one was around. Officers shut the lights off but couldn’t secure the vehicle.

Officers responded at 10:05 p.m. to 872 S. Piety St. for theft of baseball equipment.

At 11:17 p.m., a resident at 454 High Point Drive reported someone was pounding on the apartment walls. When police arrived, they heard the pounding noise but the suspect wouldn’t answer the door.

Saturday, Sept. 17 Heather Laventure, 43, Bay City, was cited for operating motor vehicle without proof of insurance and warned for speeding after a traffic stop at 8:34 a.m. at 610th Street and 570th Avenue.

Anisa Abdulle, 29, Ellsworth, was arrested for disorderly conduct when police were called at 10:27 a.m. to a fight in progress at 454 High Point Drive.

Vicky Pederson, 66, Ellsworth, was arrested for disorderly conduct when police responded back to 454 High Point Drive at 12:35 p.m. for a harassment complaint.

Sunday, Sept. 18

At 10:39 a.m., officers responded to a home in the 400 block of West Warner Street for a missing juvenile report. The juvenile was found walking to a friend’s house.

Officers removed a dead possum from the road at 9:48 p.m. at 670th Street and 580th Avenue.

At 12:22 p.m., a resident at 454 High Point Drive reported another woman for recording her outside her residence. Police told the complainant that taking a video in the yard is not illegal.
