Ellsworth Police Department reports: April 14-20, 2025

The following incidents were reported to Ellsworth Police Department April 14-20, 2025.
Monday, April 14
Police performed a welfare check at 6:28 a.m. on a vehicle at 101 N. Maple St. The vehicle was having mechanical issues.
At 1:32 p.m., a resident at 414 W. Overlook Drive reported being harassed on Facebook. She blocked the suspect, who was upset about property.
At 6:34 p.m., police received a complaint of a dog being left in a home people moved out of at 332 Pleasant Ave. The dog was in a crate and had food and water. The former residents have been coming back to feed, water and walk the dog. The landlord was advised to call back with any issues.
At 7:19 p.m., a complainant reported suspicious people walking around a fence and going into a storage unit at 526 Railroad Ave. Police made contact with the people, who said they had a unit but couldn’t get through the gate. The owner said the people hadn’t yet paid their bill.
At 8:04 p.m., a complainant reported a vehicle entering a construction zone at 553 Alexander Ave. It turned out to be workers.
Police assisted Pierce County deputies with a traffic stop at 8:21 p.m. at Maple Street and Overlook Drive.
Police assisted county deputies with another traffic stop at 11:31 p.m. at 610th Street and Highway 63.
Tuesday, April 15
Staff at Ellsworth High School called police at 12:04 p.m. about a student who was disruptive, made a self-harm comment and left the school. Police located the student, who said he was threatened with citations and would cut himself more. Police escorted the student home, made contact with a crisis worker and cited the teen for disorderly conduct.
Police observed a male in the park after hours at 11:15 p.m. at 100 W. Grove St. The man said he’d been released from the jail and didn’t want to walk to River Falls at night. He was advised to try the fairgrounds.
Wednesday, April 16
Police assisted EMS at 8:08 a.m. at 258 N. Beulah St.
A bow and arrow case was found at 12:20 p.m. near a fence at 421 W. Cairns St. Police placed it in cold storage.
At 1:55 p.m., a landlord reported junk vehicles at a rental property at 262 S. Grant St. A notice was left on the resident’s door.
Thursday, April 17
Police checked on a suspicious vehicle parked for an extended amount of time at 2:45 a.m. at 610 E. Main St.
Police mailed a warning at 8:56 a.m. to 358 N. Grant St. for junk vehicles.
At 10:42 a.m., a juvenile at the library (388 W. Main St.) for required tutoring left without permission because they didn’t want to be there. Police located the juvenile and called their father, who came to pick the child up.
A bicycle valued at $90 was reported stolen at 6:10 p.m. at 217 N. Maple St.
At 6:03 p.m., a child left a residence in the 400 block of West Highland Drive while their parent was sleeping. They said they would add extra child locks throughout the residence.
A stolen dog was reported at 9:01 p.m. at 182 Evergreen Estates St. The suspect admitted to stealing it and rehoming it. The dog was returned and Heather Ann O’Leary, 55, Ellsworth, was arrested for felony theft of a domestic animal.
Friday, April 18
A theft was reported at 5:12 p.m. at 242 N. Broadway St. The items had been moved into the back room of the laundromat; they were returned.
Paul Brown Byron, 60, River Falls, was cited for speeding after a traffic stop at 7:20 p.m. at Industrial Road and Maple Street.
Saturday, April 19
Police assisted EMS at 3:46 a.m. at 232 N. Wallace St.
Police assisted Pierce County in finding a subject at 6:50 p.m. at W7717 570th
Sunday, April 20
A runaway dog was found and returned to its owner at 12:07 a.m. at Maple and Cairns streets.
Police assisted Pierce County deputies with an OWI stop at 1:56 a.m. at Highway 65 and County Road J, Beldenville.
Police assisted EMS at 6:02 p.m. at 819 W. Lucas Lane.
