Ellsworth Police Department reports: Aug. 11-17, 2025

The following incidents were reported to Ellsworth Police Department Aug. 11-17, 2025.

Monday, Aug. 11

  • Police assisted EMS at 8:50 a.m. at 957 Southgate Drive where the complainant witnessed an 81-year-old man collapse.
  • At 1:28 p.m., police received a complaint of loud music coming from the construction site across from 210 S. Chestnut St. Police found Plummer concrete employees working with radio music in the background. The noise was at a reasonable level when police arrived.
  • A cat was found at 1:31 p.m. near 480 E. Pleasant Ave.
  • At 2:27 p.m., neighbors near 1317 Mikel St. reported chickens at large. Calvin James Omtvedt, 39, Ellsworth, was cited for not having the chickens permitted.
  • Police were notified of suspicious activity at 8:04 p.m. near Pierce County Courthouse (414 W. Main St.) A woman said she was searching for agates. She was advised to not take rocks from the landscaping.

 

Tuesday, Aug. 12

  • Winona Rae Wells, 37, Welch, Minn., was arrested for disorderly conduct and a probation hold at 2:09 a.m. at 174 Evergreen Estates St.
  • Kaylee Sue Dickinson, 19, Ellsworth, was cited for having two unlicensed dogs after multiple warnings at 8:13 a.m. at 667 E. Main St.
  • Pierce County Recycling reported illegal dumping at 12:11 p.m. at 707 N. Maple St. The suspect was notified to pay for the property they left behind.
  • Criminal damage to property was reported at 12:24 p.m. at Ellsworth Public Library (388 W. Main St.) A metal picnic table near the rear entrance had been damaged.
  • WESTconsin Credit Union (385 W. Main St.) reported receiving a counterfeit $20 bill at 1:33 p.m.
  • Police were dispatched to a suspicious activity complaint at 10:15 p.m. at the construction site at 254 S. Chestnut St. Two people were removing wood/waste from a dumpster. They said they had permission. Police contacted the project manager.

 

Wednesday, Aug. 13

  • Officers responded to a business alarm at 5:21 a.m. at 579 Vincent Lane. All was secure.
  • Police assisted EMS at 9:02 a.m. at 155 Evergreen Estates St.
  • A burglary was reported at 1:14 p.m. at the storage units at 526 E. Railroad Ave. Someone had gained access to #143 (which was locked) and removed items.
  • At 7:55 p.m., police were notified of two fifth graders assaulting another student at a school club at 445 S. Piety St. Police planned to contact the school about the incident.
  • Fidel Mendez Manzanarez, 44, Ellsworth, was arrested for OWI-fourth and operate without valid license after a traffic stop at 11:46 p.m. at Main and Plum streets.

Thursday, Aug. 14

  • Police were asked to conduct a welfare check on someone not acting “normal” at 11:10 a.m. at Wall and Broadway streets. The person appeared to be under the influence of something. Three other businesses reported the man’s strange behavior. He finally went home at 12:30 p.m.
  • Officers secured a door at 11:55 p.m. at 707 N. Maple St. Nothing suspicious was noted.

 

Friday, Aug. 15

  • Officers assisted staff at 1:27 a.m. at the Pierce County Jail (555 W. Overlook Drive).
  • Collin Alan Roettger, 27, Beldenville, was cited for parking the wrong way on the street at 12:23 p.m. at 130 N. Chestnut St.
  • At 6:48 p.m., issues with the construction site on Grant Street were reported due to the heavy rains.
  • Police assisted Pierce County with an investigation at 7:05 p.m. at N6530 720th, Beldenville.
  • Officers assisted EMS at 10:42 p.m. at 271 E. Summit Ave.

 

Saturday, Aug. 16

Officers were dispatched to a medical call at 9:35 a.m. at 363 W. Grove St. A report will be sent to the ADRC due to the living conditions.

 

Sunday, Aug. 17

  • Suspicious activity was reported at 2:29 p.m. at 526 E. Railroad Ave.
  • Police made contact with a suspicious person at 5:22 p.m. at 325 W. Main St. No violations were observed.
