Ellsworth Police Department reports: Dec. 8-14, 2025

The following incidents were reported to Ellsworth Police Department Dec. 8-14, 2025.
Monday, Dec. 8
Officers attempted a traffic stop at 1:37 a.m. at Hill Street and Highway 10 in which speeds reached more than 100 mph. The pursuit was discontinued as the vehicle entered Red Wing, but the vehicle was later found in Pierce County. Jonathan Timothy Peterson, 24, Ellsworth, was arrested for multiple traffic offenses including vehicle operator flee/elude officer.
Police assisted EMS with a person having a seizure at 11:51 a.m. at 157 E. Main St.
Erick Brett Hoff, 35, Ellsworth, was arrested for a probation violation at 2:28 p.m. at 310 W. Main St.
Officers were notified of a person who has been staying around the picnic shelter at 4:23 p.m. at Pierce County Fairgrounds (364 N. Maple St.)
At 6:30 p.m., a caller at 236 W. Summit Ave. reported a neighbor’s dog being aggressive. Police were unable to make contact.
Police responded to a one-vehicle crash at 10 p.m. at Hill and Northview streets. The driver was Betty King, 57, Cottage Grove, Minn. Passenger Sharon A. Arrington, 56, Hazel Crest, Ill., was taken to the hospital with undisclosed injuries.
Tuesday, Dec. 9
Ann Lorraine Cernohous, 45, Woodville, was cited for a winter parking violation at 3:05 a.m. at Main and Broadway streets.
Police were called at 9:45 a.m. to Ellsworth Elementary (445 S. Piety St.) for a crisis assessment. A foster child was having issues living at their foster parents’ residence. A safety plan was put into place.
Officers conducted a welfare check along with EMS at 12:55 p.m. at 454 High Point Drive. Inclusa reported a man on the floor inside the door of his residence. All was okay.
Wednesday, Dec. 10
Sharon A. Arrington, 56, Hazel Crest, Ill., was arrested for a warrant at 12:39 p.m. at 130 N. Chestnut St.
At 7:10 p.m., police were notified of someone sleeping in the laundromat at 242 N. Broadway St. The person denied sleeping inside the business.
A missing dog was reported at 8:51 p.m. at 439 E. Pleasant Ave. The dog returned.
Thursday, Dec. 11
At 10:46 a.m., a caller complained about the junk in their neighbor’s yard at 290 E. Main St.
Kevin Lee Black, 61, Ellsworth, was arrested for operate without valid license (second within three years) after a traffic stop at 11:10 a.m. at 502 W. Main St.
At 3:26 p.m., a caller reported a woman swerving toward his wife while she was on a walk. He was going to speak to the suspect about her behavior. He was advised to keep it civil.
Christine Marie McKinley, 53, Ellsworth, was cited for dog at large after her dog was found running loose in the road at 4:01 p.m. near Old West Main and Dana streets.
Samuel Houston Woolley, 16, Red Wing, Minn., was cited for expired registration after a traffic stop at 8:22 p.m. at Main and Plum streets.
A welfare check was requested on a vehicle parked at the gas pumps for over an hour at 10:18 p.m. at 610 E. Main St. The vehicle left when police arrived.
Friday, Dec. 12
Adalina Elizabeth Deringer, 20, Beldenville, was cited for a winter parking violation at 2:23 a.m. at 225 W. Grove St.
School staff reported harassment at 7:31 a.m. at Ellsworth High School (323 W. Hillcrest St.)
Patrick Lee Wright, 53, Ellsworth, was arrested for operating after revocation after a traffic stop at 5:36 p.m. at Main and Chestnut streets.
Saturday, Dec. 13
Brent Clark Spriggle, 59, Ellsworth, was cited for a winter parking violation at 2:03 a.m. at Giana Court and Alexander Avenue.
Tiffany Rae Richie, 30, Ellsworth, was cited for a winter parking violation at 2:07 am. at Giana Court and Alexander Avenue.
Alex James Hoffman, 29, Ellsworth, was cited for a winter parking violation at 2:39 a.m. at Oak and Kinne streets.
Jacob A. Holmstrom, Rockton, Ill., was cited for a winter parking violation at 2:53 a.m. at Chestnut and Woodworth streets.
