The following incidents were reported to Ellsworth Police Department Feb. 17-23.
Monday, Feb. 17
Police assisted Pierce County deputies with a one-vehicle crash at 8:06 p.m. at 710th Street and 410th
Dean Arnold Johnson, 62, Ellsworth, was cited for unlawful use of a phone after an incident at 8:37 p.m. at 271 E. Summit Ave. Another resident said Johnson called him, yelling and cussing about noise. He didn’t know how Johnson had gotten his phone number. When police responded, they could hear the TV and someone moving around in Johnson’s apartment, but he didn’t come to the door.
Tuesday, Feb. 18
At 1:05 a.m., police assisted EMS at 463 E. Wall St. with a man going through alcohol withdrawal. EMS transported him to a hospital.
At 2:23 p.m., a resident at 209 S. Chestnut St. reported that a subject had driven past his house while he and his family were shoveling outside, spinning his tires in the snow. He said the assistant district attorney told him to report the bond violation.
At 4:02 p.m., police assisted a person with low blood sugar at 237 S. Piety St.
At 5:40 p.m., a caller reported a cat in their chicken coop at 260 E. Main St. The cat ran off.
At 7:54 p.m., a caller reported hearing noises coming from a vacant apartment at 271 E. Summit Ave. Police didn’t hear any movement or voices inside. Looking in a window, the apartment appeared to be vacant.
Fraud was reported at 8:25 p.m. at 325 W. Main St. A man was accused of using property money.
At 9:07 p.m., police received a complaint of two men trying to sell vacuum cleaners at 246 Willow Drive.
Wednesday, Feb. 19
At 7:55 a.m., police assisted EMS at Ellsworth High School (323 W. Hillcrest St.) where someone was having trouble breathing.
Thursday, Feb. 20
Police responded to a two-vehicle collision at 7:55 a.m. at Panther Drive and Piety Street between Eli James Grand, 16, Ellsworth, and Oliver Joseph Truttman, 16, Hager City. Grand, heading eastbound on Panther Drive, was turning left onto Piety Street while Truttman, who was heading north on Piety Street, was turning left onto Panther Drive when the two collided. An accident report was completed.
At 12:54 p.m., a student at Ellsworth High School was found in possession of nicotine and THC vaping devices.
Friday, Feb. 21
Jakob Joseph McCabe, 19, Maiden Rock, was cited for a winter parking violation at 2:17 a.m. at 104 Kruger Lane.
Saturday, Feb. 22
Clarice A. Schultz, 68, Shell Lake, was cited for a winter parking violation at 2:36 a.m. at Overlook Drive and Grant Street.
Prisila Perez Mendez, 20, Ellsworth, was cited for a winter parking violation at 2:44 a.m. at Bay and Main streets.
Donna Marie Christiansen, 55, Ellsworth, was cited for non-registration of vehicle after a traffic stop at 5:50 p.m. at Crosstown Road and Maple Street.
Segundo Eliceo Chachipa Cando, 24, Minneapolis, was cited for operate without valid license after a traffic stop at 7:14 p.m. at Main Street and Pleasant Avenue.
Sunday, Feb. 23
Richard Duane Gibson, 45, Ellsworth, was arrested for disorderly conduct after throwing a bar glass and shattering it at 1:04 a.m. at 305 W. Main St.
At 4:05 a.m., police received a suspicious activity complaint of a man going through old cigarette butts at 101 N. Maple St. He was not located.
Police performed a welfare check at 4:40 a.m. on a woman at 271 E. Summit Ave. who was having trouble adjusting to living alone. She said she needed people to talk to and was overwhelmed with managing her medication, cleaning the apartment, and charging her phone. Police contacted her guardian but couldn’t reach him. They put the resident in touch with Northwest Connections.
At 12:18 p.m., a woman reported a white truck backing out of a handicap parking stall and striking her vehicle in the parking lot at 159 W. Main St. She followed the truck until County Road C, where deputies made contact with the driver. He said he didn’t know he had struck a vehicle but heard a horn honk. Police collected photos of the vehicle.
At 12:32 p.m., a woman at 178 S. Maple St. reported seeing a van parked by their house with a lady in it. She saw the lady walk through yards and crouch down behind things while using binoculars. Crystal Louise Woycik, 43, Ellsworth, said she had gone to a friend’s house to give them something, but her story didn’t make sense. She was cited for operate without valid license and non-registration of vehicle. The officer was called to another call and told her not to drive; however, she drove off immediately after the officer left.
Police were called at 12:52 p.m. to 137 N. Chestnut St. where a subject was having seizures.
Nicole Marie Whipple, 35, Prescott, was caught shoplifting at 6:02 p.m. at Family Dollar (181 E. Main St.) She stole $13.18 worth of items and was trespassed from the store.
