Ellsworth Police Department reports: Feb. 23-March 1, 2026

The following incidents were reported to the Ellsworth Police Department Feb. 23-March 1, 2026.

Monday, Feb. 23

  • Sabrina L. Ecker, 50, Ellsworth, was cited for a winter parking violation at 3:14 a.m. at 440 E. Wall St.
  • Melissa Ann Thornton, 54, Mondovi, was cited for a winter parking violation at 3:22 p.m. at 246 Kruger Lane.
  • At 1:20 p.m., police responded to Ellsworth Middle School (312 Panther Drive) for a suicidal juvenile. A safety plan was put into place; the parents were going to transport the child to a hospital.
  • At 6:55 p.m., police were dispatched to speak to someone about a restraining order violation at 245 Kruger Lane. They were advised to call again if the behavior continues.
  • Robert James Bartz, 63, Ellsworth, was cited for operate without valid license after a traffic stop at 9:04 p.m. at Railroad Avenue and Morse Street.

Tuesday, Feb. 24

  • Andrew Steven Wood, 43, Roberts, was cited for a winter parking violation at 1:24 a.m. at Northview and Old West Main streets.
  • Lary Alan Schuette, 49, Ellsworth, was cited for a dog at large at 7:12 a.m. at 297 E. Main St. The neighbor said it’s been an ongoing issue. Schuette denied the dog being off the property; he has three dogs and four foster dogs.
  • Officers assisted EMS at 9:28 a.m. at 429 W. Wayne St.
  • Officers responded to a minor two-vehicle crash at 2:20 p.m. at 159 W. Main St. between Michael Terence Mooney, 76, Ellsworth, and Mary Elizabeth Dougherty, 63, Ellsworth. Mooney accidentally put his vehicle in reverse in the drive thru and backed into Dougherty’s front bumper.
  • Police assisted EMS at 5:27 p.m. at 388 W. Main St. They contacted the person’s brother for a ride.
  • Edward A. Doll, 19, Stillwater, Minn., was cited for speeding after a traffic stop at 10:16 p.m. at Morse and Main streets.
  • Guillermo Silva, 25, Waukesha, was cited for operate motor vehicle without insurance after a traffic stop for speeding at 10:38 p.m. at Hill and Main streets.

Wednesday, Feb. 25

  • James Thomas Okrutny, 45, Ellsworth, was cited for a winter parking violation at 3:42 a.m. at Wall and Broadway streets.
  • Officers assisted EMS at 4:24 a.m. at 635 W. Crest Lane.
  • Courtney Lynn Dietzler, 39, Elmwood, was arrested for a probation violation at 1:18 p.m. at 310 W. Main St.
  • A false fire alarm sounded at 5:24 p.m. at Ellsworth High School (323 W. Hillcrest St.)

 

Thursday, Feb. 26

  • A business alarm sounded at 3:10 a.m. at 312 Industrial Road.
  • A fight was reported at 3 p.m. at Ellsworth Elementary School (445 S. Piety St.)
  • Officers assisted with a medical emergency at 5:10 p.m. at 346 E. Wall St.

Friday, Feb. 27

  • At 8 a.m., police spoke to a group of sophomores at Ellsworth High School (323 W. Hillcrest St.) who have been creating a nuisance by revving their engines, honking their horns and driving recklessly. Some of the male students laughed and thought it was a joke. They will be cited if the conduct continues.
  • At 6:31 p.m., police took a report of possible child abuse at a home in the 400 block of West Warner Street.

Saturday, Feb. 28

  • Shakeela Patrice Partee, 30, Hammond, Ind., was cited for a winter parking violation and warned for a fictitious plate on the vehicle at 2:36 a.m. at Grant and Church streets.
  • Courtney Elizabeth Snyder, 46, Hager City, was cited for a winter parking violation at 3:13 a.m. at Wall and Broadway streets.
  • Lorna Dee Benck, 57, Bay City, was cited for a winter parking violation at 3:16 a.m. at Wall and Broadway streets.
  • Nathen Richard-William Nelson, 37, Ellsworth, was cited for a winter parking violation at 3:19 a.m. at Wall and Broadway streets.
  • Officers found an older Black Lab on the lam at 4 p.m. They contacted the owner at 291 E. Summit Ave., who gave police permission to put the dog inside. Officers found the basement door open.
  • Lily Jo Young, 19, Ellsworth, was cited for operate without valid license after a traffic stop at 6:29 p.m. at 159 W. Main St.
  • Police were dispatched at 7:39 p.m. to 320 E. Wall St. for a suspicious person. Police located the man, who said he was just out walking.

 

Sunday, March 1

  • At 6:44 p.m., police received an anonymous complaint about loud music at 454 High Point Drive. When police arrived, they heard no music; they advised the suspect of the complaint.
  • At 9:02 p.m., police responded to the 400 block of East Wall Street for a mental health emergency.
