Ellsworth Police Department reports: Feb. 24-March 2, 2025

The following incidents were reported to Ellsworth Police Department Feb. 24 through March 2.
Monday, Feb. 24
At 2:51 a.m., a caller at 305 W. Main St. said his son had not back it home from the bar. He was found in someone else’s residence sound asleep. Jakob Edward Berg, 31, Ellsworth, was given a courtesy ride a home; officers forwarded a disorderly conduct charge to the district attorney’ office.
Jakob Edward Berg, 31, Ellsworth, was arrested for criminal damage to property when he returned to 305 W. Main St. at 4:41 a.m. and damaged property. He also allegedly damaged property at 113 S. Chestnut St., which was called in at 7:07 a.m.
Officers assisted EMS at 7:53 a.m. at 258 ½ N. Broadway St.
Police investigated an animal complaint at 8:01 a.m. at 217 N. Maple St.
At 5:27 p.m., a resident at 170 S. Chestnut St. reported concerns about an interaction with her neighbor. She was advised not to contact her neighbor on behalf of her landlord, who has a temporary restraining order against him regarding the neighbor.
At 8:52 p.m., police spoke to a woman at 209 S. Chestnut St. about text messages received from her neighbor regarding the neighbor’s dog on their property. She wanted the incident documented. Police had just spoke to the neighbor at 170 S. Chestnut St. and advised her not to contact her neighbor.
At 9:34 p.m., police responded to a business alarm at 312 W. Industrial Road. Nothing suspicious was located.
Tuesday, Feb. 25
Jeffrey Alan Hines, 55, Hager City, was cited for a winter parking violation at 2:14 a.m. at 122 N. Grant St.
Katie Ann Mae Kreger, 43, Red Wing, Minn., was cited for a winter parking violation at 2:36 a.m. at 364 W. Church St.
Lawrence Joseph Lapinsky, 76, Ellsworth, was cited for a winter parking violation at 2:49 a.m. at 440 W. Ray St.
At 2:58 a.m., police responded to 318 W. Grove St. where a man possibly under the influence of something was knocking on the door. He was located in the area and appeared to be impaired by drugs. Nothing was found when he was searched.
Michael Lyle Girard, 56, Oregon, was cited a third time for a junk storage ordinance violation at 9:36 a.m. at 643 E. Main St.
Police assisted Wisconsin State Patrol with an OWI arrest at 1:06 p.m. at Bay and Main streets.
A man reported a burglary and missing items from his residence at 3:52 p.m. at 106 Evergreen Estates St.
Abraham Peter Terlinden, 18, River Falls, was cited for possession of THC after a traffic stop for failure to signal a turn and a defective brake light at 4:39 p.m. at 400 E. Business Way. Officers smelled marijuana when they pulled him over.
Police conducted a welfare check after finding an open door at 5:37 p.m. at 882 N. Grant St. The person was fine.
Officers performed a welfare check on a woman who walked to Brotoloc (145 W. Summit Ave.) at 11:36 p.m. because she didn’t want to be at her residence. She was given a courtesy ride home. She called 911 at 2:43 a.m. but there was no emergency.
Wednesday, Feb. 26
Police assisted EMS at 2:09 p.m. at 403 N. Maple St.
At 6 p.m., a resident at 271 E. Summit Ave. reported a female neighbor had come into his apartment in the night without permission and taken property.
Police assisted Pierce County deputies with a high-risk traffic stop at 8:29 p.m. at Highway 65 and 820th Street, River Falls.
At 8:59 p.m., a woman at 271 E. Summit Ave. called police simply to “talk with someone.” She had no emergency. She had previously been given 24-hour numbers to call when she needed to talk to someone. At 9:20 p.m., she walked into the Brotoloc house at 145 W. Summit Ave., sat down and began drinking water, saying she was going to be homeless. She left when staff said they were going to call police. She was found walking at 3:30 a.m. on Highway 10 near Hill Street. She said she was walking around town to stay awake. A report was sent to the ADRC.
Thursday, Feb. 27
At 7:56 a.m., police took a person into custody at 271 E. Summit Ave. for entering an apartment without permission.
At 9:10 a.m., a complainant reported her neighbor’s dog running up onto her porch and growling at her at 209 S. Chestnut St. Maisy Joy Roed, 22, River Falls, was cited for dog at large and failure to license the dog.
Friday, Feb. 28
Police assisted EMS at 5:53 a.m. with a woman having chest pains at 567 N. Maple St.
Officers spoke to a juvenile who had been reported as suspicious at 358 W. Main St. The child was taking photos for a school project at 6:36 p.m.
Saturday, March 1
Officers assisted EMS at 8:13 a.m. at 258 N. Beulah St. A woman was transported to the hospital.
Police assisted EMS with a woman with high blood sugar at 3:49 p.m. at 151 S. Plum St.
Officer assisted EMS at 8:53 p.m. at 366 W. Overlook Drive.
