The following incidents were reported to Ellsworth Police Department Jan. 20-26.

Monday, Jan. 20

At 12:35 p.m., a complainant reported a cat that may have been hit by a car and hurt lying in the yard at 323 N. Grant St. When police arrived, the cat was gone.

Tuesday, Jan. 21

  • Police received a complaint of a man slumped over his steering wheel at 10:57 a.m. at 358 W. Main St. The occupant said he was taking a nap before going to Sawyer Joe’s.
  • At 4:51 p.m., police helped a woman with a broken leg get into a vehicle at 195 W. Grove St.
  • Police assisted sheriff’s deputies with a vehicle search at 7:01 p.m. at 1531 James St., Prescott.

 

Wednesday, Jan. 22

  • At 10:14 a.m., police found a student with a vape at Ellsworth Middle School (312 Panther Drive). The student agreed to participate in the school’s education program.
  • Paul Allen Paluga, 56, Red Wing, Minn., was cited for speeding after a traffic stop at 11:12 a.m. at 372 W. Main St.
  • At 12:32 p.m., a caller reported a suspicious truck stopping in front of an in-home daycare at 497 W. Highland Drive two days in a row. No truck was located.
  • Officers assisted River Falls police with a woman at the jail at 8:23 p.m. No force was necessary.

Thursday, Jan. 23

  • Police were dispatched at 9:46 a.m. to the Pierce County Office Building (412 W. Kinne St.) for an out-of-control male with mental health issues. The man was transported to a health facility in Winnebago.
  • Officers responded to a verbal argument at 10:28 a.m. at 266 E. Main St. A woman, who was emotional, left with a friend for the day.
  • At 6:48 p.m., a resident in the 100 block of West Warner St. had concerns about her homeless and schizophrenic ex-husband harassing her. He had made vague comments about violence and weapons. She was given information about restraining orders.
  • Morgan Ann Rohde, 21, Little Canada, Minn., was cited for possession of THC and possess drug paraphernalia after a traffic stop at 8:23 p.m. at N6240 Highway 65, Beldenville.

Friday, Jan. 24

  • Justin Wade Eggenberger, 26, Hudson, was cited for a winter parking violation at 3:10 a.m. at 455 E. Wall St.
  • Police arrested David Craig Haider, 39, Rochester, Minn., at 9:57 a.m. at 310 W. Main St. for a probation violation.
  • Officers responded to a CO alarm at 1:13 p.m. at 473 W. Highland Drive.
  • Police were dispatched at 2:21 p.m. to Ellsworth High School (323 W. Hillcrest St.) where a teen admitted using a THC vape.

 

Saturday, Jan. 25

  • Chad William Rice, 49, Ellsworth, was cited for a winter parking violation at 2:49 a.m. at Piety and Strickland streets.
  • Kristina Richardson, 45, Ellsworth, was cited for a winter parking violation at 3:08 a.m. at Hollywood and Vine streets.
  • Braden Cole Reed, 24, Spring Valley, was cited for a winter parking violation at 3:15 p.m. at Bay and Main streets.
  • Police responded to a physical altercation between two people at 2:02 p.m. at 175 Evergreen Estates St.
  • Officers assisted EMS at 5:47 p.m. at 715 W. Crest Lane.
  • Police conducted a welfare check at 7;39 p.m. at 266 E. Main St. The woman was sleeping and didn’t need assistance.

 

Sunday, Jan. 26

  • Greta Mae Rogge, 24, Ellsworth, was cited for a winter parking violation at 3:18 a.m. at Beulah and Kinne streets.
  • Amber Lynn Gaslin, 36, Hastings, Minn., was cited for a winter parking violation at 3:21 a.m. at Kinne and Bay streets.
  • Police responded at 1:28 p.m. to 280 N. Maple St. for a man who passed out. Donald Paul Kowalsky, 59, Ellsworth, was arrested for misdemeanor bail jumping.
  • At 3:30 p.m., a complainant at 529 W. Kinne St. called about a neighbor driving on their driveway and yard. A man apologized and said he was trying to clean up his property. He was warned for trespassing.
