Ellsworth Police Department reports Jan. 27-Feb. 2

The following incidents were reported to Ellsworth Police Department Jan. 27 through Feb. 2.

Monday, Jan. 27

  • Glen W. Wood, 41, Ellsworth, was cited for a winter parking violation at 2:18 a.m. at Chestnut and Spruce streets.
  • At 1:09 p.m., police received a report of two students at Ellsworth Middle School (312 Panther Drive) in possession of alcohol.
  • Officers assisted EMS with a medical at 1:39 p.m. at 107 S. Short St.
  • At 4:37 p.m., a man called police to complain again how he didn’t agree with the sale of a piece of property in the village. He was advised it was a civil matter and to talk to an attorney.

Tuesday, Jan. 28

  • Laurence Joseph Lapinsky, 76, Ellsworth, was cited for a winter parking violation at 1:55 a.m. at 440 W. Ray St.
  • Benjamin Adam Bergh, 44, Ellsworth, was arrested for felony child abuse and strangulation and suffocation after CPS received a report at 9:47 a.m. at 195 W. Humble Ave. Bergh was arrested after numerous interviews were conducted.
  • At 2:28 p.m., a caller reported seeing a suspicious van at Cenex (610 E. Main St.) The two male occupants were filming businesses. The vehicle had Indiana plates.
  • Officers assisted Pierce County Jail staff with disorderly inmates at 8:37 p.m. at 555 W. Overlook Drive.
  • Police responded to a business alarm at 11:12 p.m. at BP (101 N. Maple St.) There were no signs of forced entry.

Wednesday, Jan. 29

  • At 4:02 p.m., a man at 1022 Southgate Drive reported receiving multiple calls from a number claiming he won something through Publisher’s Clearing House. He knew it was a scam and wanted it documented.
  • Police responded to a physical altercation at 6:15 p.m. at 560 N. Maple St.

 

Thursday, Jan. 30

  • Police assisted EMS with a person having trouble breathing at 8:21 a.m. at 680 W. Lucas Lane.
  • Officers assisted PCSO with an OWI traffic stop at 7:39 p.m. at Spruce and Maple streets.

Friday, Jan. 31

  • At 8:15 a.m., police assisted CPS with a possible child abuse report at a residence in the 900 block of Anika Court.
  • Police responded to a physical fight between two students at 8:48 a.m. at Ellsworth Middle School.
  • At 5:42 p.m., officers assisted with a property exchange at W6856 490th, Ellsworth.

Saturday, Feb. 1

  • Joseph Victor Hove, 21, Ellsworth, was arrested for OWI-second and failure to install ignition interlock device after a traffic stop at 2:05 a.m. at Crosstown Road and 730th
  • At 4:14 a.m., a caller complained of an unoccupied idling vehicle at 358 W. Main St. The registered owner didn’t have a valid phone number.
  • Police conducted a welfare check at 10:52 a.m. at 680 W. Lucas Lane.
  • At 12:54 p.m., police assisted deputies with a tree downed onto fiber lines at 610th Avenue and Highway 65, Ellsworth.
  • Donald Paul Kowalsky, 59, River Falls, was arrested for misdemeanor bail jumping after a welfare check at 8:52 p.m. at Crosstown Road and Maple Street. Kowalsky had been riding a bicycle on the center line, obstructing traffic and nearly being struck. He was intoxicated.
  • At 9:05 p.m., a missing foster dog Goldendoodle was reported at 644 W. Main St. The dog returned home.

Sunday, Feb. 2

  • At 2:45 p.m., police checked on an intoxicated man passed out in the BP (101 N. Maple St.) EMS checked him out and he decided to walk home.
  • At 3:50 p.m. at Summit Park, police took a report of possible nude photos being sent from an adult to a juvenile.
  • At 6:40 p.m., officers assisted PCSO in searching for a missing person residing at N7926 610th, Beldenville. They were located.
