Ellsworth Police Department reports: June 23-29, 2025

The following incidents were reported to Ellsworth Police Department June 23-29, 2025.

Monday, June 23

  • Cones were placed around a hole in the roadway at 5:26 p.m. forming at Kinne and Chestnut streets.
  • Police performed a welfare check at 8:24 p.m. at 178 S. Chestnut St. The person was okay.
  • Officers assisted Pierce County deputies with a traffic stop at 11:45 p.m. at Highway 10 and Hill Street.

 

Tuesday, June 24

  • At 7:05 a.m., a dog ran away from 553 Alexander Ave. It was located and returned to its owner.
  • Police received an anonymous request for a welfare check on children at 1:30 p.m. in the 400 block of High Point Drive. The caller believed the parent was using drugs.
  • Charles Samuel Hinck, 32, Hager City, was cited for expired registration after a traffic stop at 5:58 p.m. at Industrial Road and Maple Street.
  • At 7:36 p.m., a resident was warned for burning brush and construction material in a large fire at 751 N. Brown St.
  • At 8:51 p.m., people at 899 N. Brown St. complained of the fire going on at 751 N. Brown St.

 

Wednesday, June 25

  • Police responded to a motion alarm at 4:52 a.m. at 463 E. Wall St. All doors were secure.
  • A Black Lab with a red collar was located at 11:01 a.m. at 560 W. Main St. It was taken to the village kennel until the owner was located.
  • At 12:07 p.m., police received a report of excessive dog barking at 655 W. Main St. The owner received a warning and was given five days to license the dogs.
  • At 3:22 p.m., a caller requested police check on animals left at 182 Evergreen Estates St. Police informed her again that they can’t enter the residence without permission as no eviction has taken place. Police learned only one cat was left and was being checked on daily.
  • Police received complaints of a recurring pothole at 6:11 p.m. at 350 W. Kinne St.
  • Officers were dispatched to a three-vehicle crash at 6:39 p.m. at Main and Dar streets between Amanda Marie Peterson, 32, River Falls; Christopher Pierce Pharis, 54, Toledo, Ohio; and Cayden Ross Wood, 18, Ellsworth. Wood said he was not able to stop in time due to the excess rain and rear-ended the vehicles in front of him. He was cited for driving too fast for conditions.

 

Thursday, June 26

  • Police were advised of a civil matter concerning a camper at 8:35 a.m. at 179 Evergreen Estates St. She was advised to contact her attorney.
  • Officers responded at 11:40 a.m. to Ellsworth Elementary (445 Piety St.) for a child who ran away from summer school. He said he ran away because he swore and was worried he’d get into trouble. He was found running in front of the courthouse, where his mother restrained him.
  • Police stood by and kept the peace at 3:39 p.m. at 530 W. Cairns St.
  • Officers assisted Pierce County deputies at 5:24 p.m. at W7306 161st, Hager City.
  • Police assisted deputies at 9:41 p.m. at N6499 Highway 63, Beldenville.

 

Friday, June 27

  • A caller reported a barking dog at 1:12 p.m. at Crosscut and Wall streets. Nothing was found.
  • At 2:44 p.m., police assisted the village administrator in speaking to bartenders about off sales during Cheese Curd Festival.
  • Police received a complaint of possible animal abuse at 5:26 p.m. at 182 Evergreen Estates St.
  • Jerri Lynn Zimmer, 60, Bay City, was cited for parking in a no parking zone at 7;43 p.m. at 430 E. Main St.
  • Lawrence A. Siuta, 63, was cited for parking in a no parking zone at 7:52 p.m. at 430 E. Main St.

Saturday, June 28

  • Police responded to a business alarm at 3:39 a.m. at 157 E. Main St. Nothing was observed.
  • At 10:07 a.m., a resident at 311 N. Railroad Ave. complained of people parking on his land. They were parking on public land.
  • Police assisted EMS at 12:35 p.m. at 171 Evergreen Estates St. where someone had a seizure.
  • At 1:02 p.m., a resident at 311 N. Railroad Ave. called police about people parking in front of his driveway. He was advised to speak to the Ellsworth Chamber about the situation so it doesn’t happen again next year.
  • Mark Allen Haugstad, 59, Blaine, Minn., and Courtney Leann Seipel, 33, Bay City, were ticketed for parking in an authorized emergency vehicle zone at 4:08 p.m. at Main and Broadway streets.
  • Patrick David Motley, 21, Ellsworth, was cited for reckless driving after a traffic stop at 4:50 p.m. at Utility Street and Bio Avenue. Motley attempted to hide from police on Bio Avenue after driving recklessly in front of the Cheese Curd Festival grounds.
  • A restraining order violation was reported at 6:10 p.m. at 510 Burton Circle.
  • At 9:01 p.m., police saw two people in a verbal confrontation that appeared to be escalating at 290 N. Morse St. They were intoxicated. Both were warned for disorderly conduct.

 

Sunday, June 29

  • Police were notified of a juvenile runaway at 5:15 p.m. at a home in the 500 block of Mitchell Street. They were found and returned home.
  • A lost dog was reported at 10:07 p.m. at 125 Evergreen Estates St. The dog was found safe and sound.
