Ellsworth Police Department reports: March 31-April 6, 2025

The following incidents were reported to Ellsworth Police Department March 31 through April 6.
Monday, March 31
Police responded to a domestic at 3:06 a.m. at 845 W. Main St. Two people were having relationship issues. The male party was told he was no longer wanted at the residence.
At 9:34 a.m., a caller reported a woodchuck living in a garage at 358 N. Grant St. The owner said they’d secure the garage.
Charles Reed Curtis, 29, Ellsworth, was cited for operating motor vehicle without insurance after a traffic stop at 5:40 p.m. at Main and Grant streets.
Police assisted Pierce County deputies with a traffic stop at 5:54 p.m. at 590th Street and Highway 63.
Thomas Eugene Avery Thiele, 34, Ellsworth, was cited for operating motor vehicle without insurance after a traffic stop at 9:55 p.m. at Beulah and Main streets.
Tuesday, April 1
Police assisted Pierce County deputies with a vehicle crash at 4:36 p.m. at County Road C and 490thGordon Michael Pung, 30, Ellsworth, was arrested for OWI-first.
Officers performed a welfare check at 9:20 p.m. at 869 W. Cairns St. A son hadn’t heard from his mother and was worried. She was fine.
Wednesday, April 2
Police were dispatched to a burglary at 10:28 a.m. at 106 Evergreen Estates St. The complainant, Jerry W. Wilhite, 54, Ellsworth, was arrested for obstructing police and a probation hold after police learned he’d lied to get another person in trouble.
Officers were notified of a vehicle crash at 4:18 p.m. at 157 E. Main St.
At 8:31 p.m., a resident in the 200 block of Northview Street requested extra patrol near the cul-de-sac.
At 9:06 p.m., police warned residents having a campfire at 124 Evergreen Estates St. to keep the noise down.
Thursday, April 3
Police received an animal complaint at 8:18 a.m. at Terrace Avenue and Main Street. The animal appeared to be healthy and was scavenging for food.
At 11:38 a.m., police received a complaint of a student in another district making threats toward an Ellsworth High School student.
Police assisted Pierce County deputies with a combative emergency detention at 9:36 p.m. at W4419 Highway 29, Spring Valley.
Friday, April 4
At 6:53 a.m., a caller at 321 W. Main St. reported someone had cut two of her tires.
Extra patrol was requested at 1:25 p.m. at 305 W. Main St. A resident who was moving was concerned about a possible restraining order violation occurring.
At 3:57 p.m., a staff member at 232 W. Hillcrest St. reported an adult possibly having inappropriate communications with minors.
Officers assisted Ellsworth Fire at 9:14 p.m. at 336 Golf Course Lane.
Saturday, April 5
Benjamin Charles Souster, 52, Ellsworth, was arrested for operate without valid license (fourth), felony bail jumping (three counts) and misdemeanor bail jumping after a traffic stop at 7:09 p.m. at Main and Pond streets.
Sunday, April 6
Police were notified of possible damage to mailboxes at 6:40 a.m. near 414 W. Overlook Drive. It appeared the mailboxes had been removed from the stand. There was no damage and it didn’t appeared that any mail was missing.
