Ellsworth Police Department reports: May 26-June 1, 2025

The following incidents were reported to Ellsworth Police Department May 26-June 1.
Monday, May 26
At 7:31 a.m., theft of a black and yellow 25-foot extension cord between 4 p.m. May 25 and 4 p.m. May 26 from 193 E. Main St. was reported.
Police responded at 12:44 p.m. to a home in the 500 block of West Main Street for a child having a seizure.
At 6:32 p.m., police were called to a home in the 100 block of Evergreen Estates Street for a juvenile who ran away from home after an argument with her mother. She was located and given a courtesy ride back home.
Kari Lynn Preston, 44, Ellsworth, was arrested for OWI-fourth after a traffic stop at 7:21 p.m. at Terrace Avenue and Main Street.
Tuesday, May 27
Police assisted deputies in returning a group home resident to staff at 12:38 a.m. at N7211 Highway 65, River Falls.
Officers assisted deputies with an unruly inmate at 1:15 a.m. at Pierce County Jail (555 W. Overlook Drive).
At 2:57 p.m., a caller at 620 S. Piety St. reported harassment from an ex who was also allegedly telling others to “blow up her phone.” Police attempted to talk to the suspect without success.
At 3:36 p.m., a caller reported a suspicious person who walked into the woods near 206 N. Northview St. A car was parked at the road’s end, but police didn’t find anyone in the woods.
Isaac Edward Benck, 30, Plum City was arrested for a failure to appear warrant after a traffic stop for a cracked front windshield at 5:20 p.m. at Wall and Broadway streets.
Police assisted EMS at 10:10 p.m. at 958 Hilden Drive.
Wednesday, May 28
A sales permit was approved for Southwestern Advantage at 8:22 a.m. by the police department.
Police responded to a two-vehicle crash at 9:13 a.m. at Maple Street and Bourbon Circle. A semi, driven by Dahir Ishaq Ahmed, 28, Apple Valley, Minn., backed into an SUV owned by Linda Lou Szempruch, 69, Ellsworth. The commercial motor vehicle inspector responded for an inspection.
Cody Michael Bui, 38, Bay City, was arrested for a probation violation and taken into custody at 9:34 a.m. at 310 W. Main St.
At 3:45 p.m., police were dispatched to 470 W. Highland Drive where a suspicious person was looking for a ride back to River Falls. The complainant thought it might be someone who was released from jail. They were not located.
Thursday, May 29
Police were dispatched to a car vs. pedestrian crash at 3:13 p.m. at Beulah and Main streets. Daniel R. Hayes, 78, Ellsworth, struck Kenneth L. Wilson, 74, Ellsworth, who was crossing the street in a crosswalk. EMS transported Wilson to Regions Hospital where he died from his injuries.
At 5:49 p.m., police received a report of a child driving an electric Jeep on the roadway at 286 E. Summit Ave. They were not located.
Police assisted Pierce County deputies with a vehicle search at 6:18 p.m. at County Road J and 645th Avenue, Beldenville.
At 6:22 p.m., a caller complained of construction noise at 229 S. Chestnut St.
Friday, May 30
At 12:44 p.m., police received a report of two Pitbulls running around the fairgrounds (364 N. Maple St.) The owner later located the dogs.
At 4:27 p.m., Stephen Gregory Thayer, 74, Ellsworth, reported backing up in traffic that was backed up at Main and Wallace streets and striking the vehicle behind him. He had no damage to his vehicle and did not get the other driver’s name.
Police assisted deputies with a crash at 5:10 p.m. at 670th Street and 580th
Saturday, May 31
At 12:42 p.m., Ellyana Marie Shingledecker, 17, Maiden Rock, was backing into a parking spot at Ellsworth Creamery (232 N. Wallace St.) and struck at 2007 Cadillac Escalade, owned by Lisa Kay Olson, 62, Ellsworth.
Police received a noise complaint at 9:58 p.m. at 220 W. Summit Ave. When police arrived, the noise was at a reasonable level.
Sunday, June 1
Police assisted PCSO with an alarm at 1:18 p.m. at W6265 Highway 63, Ellsworth.
An animal bite was reported at 3:48 p.m. at 509 W. Mitchell St. A quarantine order was issued.
Robert Charles Shaub, 52, Wyoming, Minn., was arrested for operating while revoked, felony bail jumping and a probation hold after a traffic stop at 6:19 p.m. at Maple Street and Overlook Drive.
Lemar Leonard Hines, 52, Ellsworth, was arrested for felony charges out of St. Croix County at 7:43 p.m. at 481 S. Broadway St.
Nakeyia Lynn Ruoho, 23, Emerald, was arrested for disorderly conduct at 9:50 p.m. at 202 S. Grant St.
