Ellsworth Police Department reports: May 5-11, 2025

The following incidents were reported to Ellsworth Police Department May 5-11, 2025.

Monday, May 5

  • A juvenile was cited for possessing a vape at 1:18 p.m. at Ellsworth Middle School (312 Panther Drive). Their mother was notified.
  • At 2:08 p.m., a caller reported having ongoing problems with their neighbor at 432 Nelson St. She reported on March 14 that her intoxicated neighbor yelled at her and stomped her feet on the floor to bother her. The suspect had reported damage to her vehicle March 16. The complainant was advised to notify the landlord of the issues.
  • At 4:05 p.m., a resident at 225 N. Maple St. complained of her trash cans being put in the road after the garbage is picked up by GFL. She was advised to call GFL, which she already did.
  • At 10:05 p.m., police checked on an unattended fire at 232 S. Piety St., where garbage was being burned. The suspect, Michael Mathew Mason, 51, Ellsworth, said he was making brisket. He was cited for illegal burning.

 

Tuesday, May 6

  • At 2:05 p.m., a complainant reported a vehicle had been dropped off in their driveway at 154 W. Main St. Officers left a voicemail for its owner to pick up the vehicle.
  • At 8:08 p.m., police assisted Pierce County deputies with a handcuff adjustment at W7250 170th, Bay City.

 

Wednesday, May 7

  • At 8:49 a.m., a witness reported seeing a semi strike an electrical pole on the southwest side of the intersection at Main and Maple streets at 6:30 a.m. May 6. The driver said he was unaware he had struck the pole. Information was passed on to Xcel Energy.
  • Nathan Michael McRoberts, 20, Hager City, was cited for speeding after a traffic stop at 8:36 p.m. at Maple and Cairns streets.

 

Thursday, May 8

  • Police responded to a domestic at 7:44 a.m. at 454 High Point Drive.
  • A hit and run was reported at 8:19 a.m. at Ellsworth High School (323 Hillcrest St.) A Wells Concrete truck struck a vehicle parked at the end of a row in the south lot. The driver said he was unaware he had struck a vehicle. It was impossible to tell if damage on the truck was from the collision.
  • At 11:17 a.m., police received an anonymous report of a barking dog at Grove and Chestnut streets. The owner said they’d take care of it.
  • At 6:50 p.m., police responded to a possible attempted juvenile suicide in the 100 block of Evergreen Estates Street. The juvenile had taken 15 melatonin while trying to harm themselves. The parents were notified and the child transported to Red Wing Mayo ER.

 

Friday, May 9

At 11:27 p.m., residents at 269 E. Sun Circle were warned for making too much noise.

Saturday, May 10

  • Police and Public Works responded to a lift station alarm sounding at 8:26 a.m. at Kruger Lane and 490th
  • A possible domestic was reported at 9:30 a.m. at 454 High Point Drive,. The male left before police arrived.
  • Residents were warned for a dog at large at 6:52 p.m. at 981 Kelly Road.
  • Della Rose Sophia Vanlith, 20, Albertville, Minn., was cited for possession of THC and possess drug paraphernalia after a traffic stop at 11:16 p.m. at Overlook Drive and Maple Street.

Sunday, May 11

  • Wade Thomas Schwechler, 22, Hudson, was arrested for OWI after a traffic stop for crossing the center line at 2:05 a.m. at Plum and Main streets.
  • Two calves escaped a fence at 8:42 a.m. at 713 S. Maple St. Police assisted in getting them back in.
  • Robert Charles Shaub, 52, Ellsworth, was arrested for receiving stolen property, possession of methamphetamine and a probation hold after police found a stolen boat motor in his front yard at 4:17 p.m.
