Ellsworth Police Department reports: Nov. 17-23, 2025

The following incidents were reported to Ellsworth Police Department Nov. 17-23, 2025.
Monday, Nov. 17
At 3:38 p.m., police saw five semis with their hazard lights on near Main and Crosscut streets. The lead semi was having issues, but they were able to get going again.
Officers assisted EMS at 11:50 a.m. at 399 S. Oak St.
Police assisted EMS at 1:23 p.m. at 456 W. Main St.
Officers responded to a possibly suicidal subject at 2:38 p.m. at a home in the 300 block of West Main Street. The woman said she wasn’t suicidal, just depressed over no contact from her boyfriend. A mental health worker released her on a safety plan.
Police attempted a welfare check at 4:29 p.m. at 430 W. Cairns St. No contact was made.
Officers assisted Pierce County deputies at 5:03 p.m. at Pierce County Jail (555 W. Overlook Drive).
Police assisted EMS at 5:48 p.m. at 235 S. Plum St.
A theft was reported at 8:55 p.m. at 258 N. Beulah St.
Tuesday, Nov. 18
A caller reported smelling smoke in her residence at 1:16 a.m. at 163 N. Beulah St. A low battery was found in the smoke detector, but nothing else was noteworthy.
At 1:31 p.m., police were informed of a hit and run at 232 W. Wallace St. The owner of a legally parked vehicle was told her vehicle had been struck at 12:43 p.m. by a black SUV, which left the scene. Police located the driver, Ella Grace Barthel, 18, River Falls, and cited her for hit and run.
Police responded to a question about tenant/landlord issues at 4:04 p.m. at 106 Evergreen Estates St. where they arrested Jerry Wayne Wilhite, 54, Ellsworth, for a a probation warrant.
Officers assisted Child Protective Services with an investigation at 7:56 p.m. at a home in the 200 block of East Main Street.
Wednesday, Nov. 19
At 1:02 p.m., Pierce Vet Clinic reported a woman had dropped off a black cat with white collar that she had found wandering near Wall and Broadway streets. The cat was transported to River Bluffs Humane Society in Red Wing.
Officers and EMS responded at 1:53 p.m. to 174 Evergreen Estates St., where they found a person who was disoriented. EMS transported them to the hospital. They also had a Minnesota warrant out for their arrest.
Repeated harassment was reported at 4:24 p.m. at 540 W. Cairns St. The person was given information about Turning Point.
Police responded to an alarm at 5:51 p.m. at 385 W. Main St. All doors were secure and everything was fine during a walkthrough with the keyholder.
Thursday, Nov. 20
Officers assisted EMS at 6:50 a.m. at 481 W. Highland Drive with someone who was in a confused state. They didn’t want to be transported but they weren’t coherent. EMS took them to the hospital.
Santos Martin Cuc Guarcax, 30, Minneapolis, was cited for operate without valid license after a traffic stop for driving without taillights at 6:55 p.m. at Maple Street and Golf Course Lane.
Friday, Nov. 21
Officers assisted county deputies with a traffic stop at 2:55 a.m. at Main and Pond streets.
William James Munden, 64, Ellsworth, was arrested for a warrant at 4:35 p.m. at 310 W. Main St.
At 9:31 p.m., police spoke with a dog owner about a complaint at 655 W. Main St.
At 11:58 p.m., police received an anonymous complaint about a possible domestic at 454 High Point Drive. A woman denied having any problems or anyone at the home. She had no visible injuries.
Saturday, Nov. 22
Police checked on a suspicious running vehicle at 10:36 a.m. parked in the curbside pickup stall at 157 E. Main St. A man inside said he was sleeping. He was told to move along and warned for the window tint on his vehicle.
Sunday, Nov. 23
Officers noticed an illegal burn at 2:41 p.m. at 643 E. Main St. Michael Lyle Gerard, 60, Ellsworth, was burning plywood and cardboard. He smelled of alcohol and at first refused a Breathalyzer, then gave one with a .05 result. Probation was notified and he was cited for illegal burning.
Officers assisted county deputies with an incident at 7:30 p.m. at N8034 920th, River Falls.
