The following incidents were reported to Ellsworth Police Department Oct. 20-27, 2025.

Monday, Oct. 20

At 11:13 a.m., a resident at 210 S. Chestnut St. reported that at 2:12 a.m., someone had been messing with his Halloween decorations. Nothing was taken, but the security light came on and the subject ran off.

 

Tuesday, Oct. 21

  • At 8:04 p.m., a caller with ongoing mental health/paranoia issues requested extra patrol in the 200 block of East Summit Avenue.
  • Fraudulent computer crime activity was reported at 9:41 p.m. at 824 N. Grant St.

Wednesday, Oct. 22

  • At 10:09 a.m., a complainant reported a pop-up camper that had been parked in the rear yard of 364 S. Maple St. for an extended amount of time. The owner said he is working on getting rid of it.
  • Austin Tyler Ibarra Drewes, 26, Inver Grove Heights, Minn., was cited for operate without valid license after a traffic stop at 7:34 p.m. at Church and Maple streets.
  • At 7:44 p.m., a complainant at 691 W. Giana Court complained of a construction crew using heavy machinery at a late hour. The workers advised they were done for the night.
  • Officers assisted EMS with a call at 10:55 p.m. at 271 E. Summit Ave. EMS transported a man to Mayo in Eau Claire.

 

Thursday, Oct. 23

  • Officers witnessed two vehicles unloading items at an odd hour at 2:48 a.m. at 526 N. Railroad Ave. The groundskeeper showed police a text asking him to clean out a unit.
  • At 8:56 a.m., students at Ellsworth High School (323 W. Hillcrest St.) were cited for possessing nicotine vapes.
  • At 9:32 a.m., a complainant reported that a vehicle had struck the driver’s side mirror of his vehicle sometime between 7 p.m. Oct. 22 and 7 a.m. Oct. 23 while parked near Chestnut and Spruce streets. The mirror cover was broken off and the mirror pushed forward.
  • At 3:50 p.m., a mother reported a parent for driving by her child, walking near 456 W. Main St., and shouting a threat.
  • At 4:54 p.m., police were notified of a juvenile driving recklessly in the high school parking lot. They received multiple complainants of the suspect unsafely passing and brake checking people near Ridge Road and Piety Street. The parents said they would address the issue.
  • Officers responded to a domestic at 7:05 p.m. at 290 E. Summit Ave. The parties stated it was a verbal argument and agreed to remain civil for the night.
  • At 9:11 p.m., an employee at Nilssen’s (157 E. Main St.) reported someone for parking overnight in the lot. The man was asked to leave.

 

Friday, Oct. 24

  • Illegal dumping was reported at 9:42 a.m. at 707 N. Brown St.
  • Police assisted EMS at 1:51 p.m. at 258 N. Beulah St.
  • Officers responded to a minor two-vehicle crash at 6:22 p.m. at Cenex (610 E. Main St.) between Kelsey Ray Bechel, 37, Bay City, and Adam Philip Brantner, 38, Nelson. A Buick was at the pump when a truck backed into it, causing minor grill damage.

 

Saturday, Oct. 25

  • At 1:50 a.m., a parent reported a juvenile sneaking out of a home in the 200 block of West Charlotte Street and taking off on a bike. The juvenile was found at a house on Main Street and returned to their father.
  • An emergency detention was performed on a person with suicidal thoughts at 8:46 p.m. at a home in the 100 block of North Dana Street. EMS transported them to Amery.

 

Sunday, Oct. 26

  • Police assisted EMS with a woman who fell at 9:45 a.m. at 429 W. Wayne St.
  • Marshall Aaron Hill, 27, Grand Forks, ND, was cited for operating motor vehicle without insurance and warned for speeding after a traffic stop at 10:01 a.m. at Maple and Cairns streets.
  • Officers assisted Ellsworth Fire with a fire alarm at 11:07 a.m. at 145 W. Summit Ave.
  • Police checked on suspicious activity at 11:44 p.m. at 526 N. Railroad Ave. Two suspects were warned of storage unit hours. They advised their car had broken down.
