The following incidents were reported to Ellsworth Police Department Sept. 1-7, 2025.

Monday, Sept. 1

  • Officers responded to a business alarm at 8:56 a.m. at 557 Vincent Lane.
  • At 11:04 a.m., a caller reported damage to her vehicle windshield at 232 S. Piety St.
  • Ann Lorraine Cernhous, 45, Woodville, was cited for expired registration after a traffic stop at 6:26 p.m. at 157 E. Main St.
  • Officers assisted Pierce County deputies with an OWI traffic stop at 9:38 p.m. at Highway 65 and 820th

 

Tuesday, Sept. 2

  • Police responded to a civil matter at 8:29 a.m. at 490 W. Highland Drive.
  • Officers received an anonymous complaint of a barking dog at 9:52 a.m. at 456 W. Kinne St. Police found the dog outside next to the garage, though it wasn’t barking at that time. The dog’s owner said they’d work on correcting the issue.
  • At 2:22 p.m., police responded to a car vs. pedestrian crash at 157 E. Main St. Brian Jacobson, 57, Spring Valley, was backing up and struck Vicki Campbell, 82, Ellsworth.
  • Police assisted EMS at 2:41 p.m. at 438 W. Kinne St.
  • Officers were called at 3:15 p.m. to Pierce County Human Services (412 W. Kinne St.) for an out-of-control child who was biting, spitting and hitting. Police helped calm the child, who left with their mother.

 

Wednesday, Sept. 3

  • Officers conducted a welfare check at 3:58 p.m. at 739 W. Lucas Lane. The woman was fine.
  • William Scott Cook, 33, homeless, was cited for non-registration of vehicle/auto and operating motor vehicle without insurance after a traffic stop at 5:45 p.m. at Highway 10 and Hill Street.
  • At 7:08 p.m., police removed a sign from the roadway at Piety and Viola streets.
  • Police conducted extra patrol of the storage units at 11:49 p.m. at 526 E. Railroad Ave. They found a vehicle with fogged up windows, but it was unoccupied.

 

Thursday, Sept. 4

  • Police responded to an assault complaint at 7:58 a.m. at 224. N. Broadway. A man’s tooth was knocked out in the scuffle. Benjamin Charles Souster, 52, Bay City, was arrested for disorderly conduct.
  • Officers were dispatched to a juvenile complaint at 8:09 a.m. at Ellsworth Elementary (445 S. Piety St.)
  • Officers assisted Pierce County Human Services with a voluntary emergency detention at 3:35 p.m. at 412 W. Kinn St.

 

Friday, Sept. 5

  • Staff at St. Francis School notified police of a truck that speeds by the school every day at 2 p.m. near Grant and Woodworth streets. The driver’s parent(s) said they’d make sure their child corrects their behavior.
  • Staff reported being threatened at 3:01 p.m. at Walter’s Electric (171 W. Main St.) The complainant said there was a disagreement about services provided and denied making threats, though he said he may take the matter to civil court.
  • Police received a complaint of a campfire at 11:14 p.m. at 170 Evergreen Estates St. Nothing was located.
  • Officers were notified of juveniles in BP (101 N. Maple St.) after curfew at 11:54 p.m. Police determined it wasn’t after curfew at the time of the call.

 

Saturday, Sept. 6

  • Danielle Dorothy Peterson, 25, Ellsworth, was cited for non-registration of auto after a traffic stop at 12:54 a.m. at Maple and Grove streets.
  • At 2:34 p.m., police responded to a two-vehicle crash between Robert Richard Menge, 35, Bloomington, Minn., and Tiffany Marie Ray, 47, Ellsworth, at 327 W. Main St.

 

Sunday, Sept. 7

  • A lost dog was reported at 2:19 p.m. at 938 Anika Ct.
  • Police received a complaint of animal neglect at 6:27 p.m. at 634 W. Main St. The dog had outdoor shelter and water and appeared to be healthy. The owner said the young dog knocks his bowls over often. Nothing concerning was noted.
