Ellsworth Police Department reports: Sept. 8-14, 2025

The following incidents were reported to Ellsworth Police Department Sept. 8-14, 2025.

Monday, Sept. 8

  • Officers assisted in putting out a small fire at 6:53 a.m. at the Ellsworth High School greenhouse (323 W. Hillcrest St.)
  • Police were asked to conduct a welfare check at 8 a.m. at 186 Thoner Court on someone who had not shown up for work over the weekend. They no longer live at that address, police learned.
  • Officers conducted a mental health welfare check on a suicidal male at 5:03 p.m. at a home in the 100 block of West Humble Avenue. A broken CD was confiscated and a safety plan put into place.
  • Dorian Lamont Bivens, 51, Ellsworth, was arrested for disorderly conduct (domestic, use of dangerous weapon) at 5:43 p.m. at 133 Evergreen Estates St.
  • Police were notified of a sinkhole in the street at 6:16 p.m. near 230 S. Oak St. They let the Public Works Department know.
  • At 6:58 p.m., police assisted Northwest Connections with a safety plan for a suicidal juvenile at a home in the 400 block of High Point Drive.

 

Tuesday, Sept. 9

  • Police were dispatched to a verbal argument at 7:20 a.m. at 454 High Point Drive. Police could hear a woman yelling and child crying. They were fighting over the male party being truthful about where he was going to work that day. They were told to separate for the day.
  • Officers assisted Child Protective Services with a parent marijuana use complaint at noon at a home in the 700 block of West Dale Street. The parents were not cooperative.
  • Police responded to a juvenile complaint at 12:24 p.m. at Ellsworth High School (323 W. Hillcrest St.)
  • At 12:33 p.m., police were called to 138 Evergreen Estates St. for a suspicious noise coming from the kitchen.
  • Police were dispatched to a juvenile complaint at 2:31 p.m. at a home in the 700 block of West Dale Street.
  • A bicycle theft was reported at 4:05 p.m. at 305 W. Main St. The bike had been purchased from Hines Auction. The case is under investigation.
  • Officers assisted Pierce County deputies with an unruly arrestee at 11:20 p.m. at 404 Omaha Ave., Elmwood.

 

Wednesday, Sept. 10

  • At 9:42 a.m., Pierce County Recycling (707 N. Maple St.) reported someone the night before had trespassed on the property and scavenged in the dumpsters. He also left items strewn about the property. Police arrested Robert Charles Shaub, 52, Wyoming, Minn., for the infraction.
  • Police were asked to check for a possible domestic occurring at 11:54 a.m. near Highway 65 and County Road J, Beldenville. Nothing was found.
  • Officers conducted extra patrol at the Ellsworth School Board meeting at 6:13 p.m. at 445 S. Piety St.

 

Thursday, Sept. 11

  • Police found the hazard lights left on tractor at 12:05 a.m. at 621 W. Cairns St. They turned them off.
  • A complainant reported concerns about Pierce County Meats (460 E. Wall St.) butchering pigs at 3:49 a.m.
  • Police responded to a fire alarm at 8:03 a.m. at 364 W. Kinne St. There were no signs of a fire.
  • Officers performed a welfare check by phone at 12:04 p.m. at 266 E. Main St. The person was fine.
  • Police checked on someone sleeping in the picnic shelter at 12:59 p.m. at Pierce County Fairgrounds (364 N. Maple St.) They said they were fine.
  • A complainant reported kids fighting at 4:07 p.m. at Summit Park (100 W. Grove St.) The kids said they’re all friends and everything was fine.
  • Nicholas William Foster, 20, Ellsworth, was cited for operate without valid license at 10:24 p.m. at Kinne and Bay streets.

Saturday, Sept. 13

  • Kurtis Gene Kerr, 24, Wilson, was arrested for OWI and a probation hold after a traffic stop for operating without taillights at 2:18 a.m. at County Road C and Main Street.
  • At 10:32 a.m., police assisted with traffic control for an annual memorial bike ride at 455 E. Wall St.
  • At 11:16 a.m., a complainant reported two dogs left in a vehicle at 157 E. Main St. for over 20 minutes. The owner had the AC running and two windows open.
  • At 3:04 p.m., police spoke to a man about “treasure hunting” in East End Park (398 E. Wall St.) He was told not to dig up the grass.
  • At 5:52 p.m., police located and stopped a hit and run suspect at highways 10 and 63. Pierce County is handling the investigation.
  • At 6:50 p.m., a caller reported missing fireworks, tools and other items taken from a storage unit at 526 Railroad Ave.

 

Sunday, Sept. 14

  • Police responded to a vehicle vs. house crash at 2:21 a.m. at 498 W. Overlook Drive. Alyssa Rose Puhalla, 18, Hudson, was arrested for second-degree recklessly endangering safety, OWI and failure to keep vehicle under control. The vehicle went into the homeowner’s spare bedroom, which was unoccupied. Passenger Logan Bradley Krumenauer, 20, Ellsworth, and Puhalla were each cited for underage alcohol consumption/possession.
  • Maisy Joy Roed, 23, Ellsworth, was cited for dog at large at 10:48 a.m. in the 200 block of South Chestnut Street. She has received multiple warnings.
  • Officers assisted Pierce County with a traffic stop at 1:39 p.m. at Maple and Ray streets.
  • Officers stood by for a property exchange at 3:16 p.m. at 246 N. Broadway St.
  • Police were called at 8:31 p.m. to 246 N. Broadway St. for an unwanted subject the complainant wanted removed from the area. The suspect was on the public street with no violations.
  • Officers received an anonymous complaint of suspicious activity at 11:20 p.m. at 111 S. Pond St.
