January is looking to be a busy month at Ellsworth Public Library.

Join our 2022 Newbery Reading Challenge (recommended for ages 8+) to celebrate 100 years of the Newbery Medal for distinguished children’s literature. Challenge yourself to complete the whole year-long challenge, participate for one month or any combination of months. Participate to qualify for monthly prize drawings and to complete fun creative activities.

Calling all quilters! Our annual EPL Mystery Quilt kicks off this month. Register or stop by the library to receive your materials list and cutting instructions on Jan. 10. Then each Monday, starting Jan. 24 and continuing for 5-6 weeks, you’ll receive a clue (or set of instructions) to work on until your final quilt is revealed in February. We’ll also have a get together to showcase everyone’s handiwork in March.

Storytime – Fridays at 10 a.m. Watch for a new monthly Saturday Story Spectacular coming in February.

Jan. 10 from 6-7:30 p.m. – Virtual Teen Chill Down event via Zoom . Gather virtually with other Wisconsin teens for an evening of games, activities, conversation and to just “chill out” in the new year.

Jan. 10-28 – Stop by the library and take a guess at how many LEGO bricks are in our estimating jar. Guess the closest and win the jar of LEGOs!
