How did you get connected to the Great River Road Visitor & Learning Center?
When we first moved into Prescott, our family enjoyed visiting the park. It was much different then;_I remember an old trailer, about where the parking lot is now, with a dog leashed up outside. Still had the great views and_a friendly park feel. The Pavilion was in some disrepair, but I believe it still functioned like it was meant to. Then there was a movement to make the park what it is today. I give great credit to the folks that worked so hard to have it become the great place it is. _Knowing Char Magee and Jim Shiely, I was extended an opportunity to work on the board.
What part of the mission gets you most excited?
I like the fact Prescott is a destination point . Many visitors come to see what we are all so lucky to have every day. Having the confluence of the rivers is very special, and we do appreciate it._
What makes this organization special?
I like the programming. We can all participate in learning
about our area and_the nature we have. My wife, Valla, and I met on the St. Croix River in the late 60's working at an outward bound canoe camp not far from Grantsburg. Each week
