The Children's Dyslexia Center of Upper Wisconsin opened on Jan. 11, 2011 in Eau Claire. They provide free remedial instruction for children and free accredited training for adults so they can work with kiddos more effectively. They rely on our community throughout northwestern_Wisconsin to support the work they do through generous contributions _of their time, talents, and treasures._ The average cost to provide our services is about $5,000 per child per year and they depend on volunteers and donors to help offset those costs.__ Dyslexia impacts as many as 1 in 5 people or as much as 20% of the population.
The Hancock Lodge of Ellsworth, through fundraising efforts, raised $2,250 to be donated to the Children’s Dyslexia Center of Upper Wisconsin. Their donation was matched by the national Freemason’s organization to make the donation total $4,500.
