ELLSWORTH – At a special board meeting Wednesday, Sept. 22, the Ellsworth Village Board approved a contract with B.S. Construction of Elmwood to make improvements along Isabelle Creek in the town of Hartland. The creek flows south from Ellsworth to Bay City.
The contract is for $99,620, far below the estimated $253,000 project cost, according to Village Administrator/Treasurer Nicole Stewart. The work will begin immediately once the contract and bonding are confirmed; however, no work can be done after Oct. 15 and will resume after May 15, 2022, for completion by July 15, 2022. This is a Department of Natural Resources’ requirement.
B.S. Construction will make improvements along 2,975 feet of Isabelle Creek’s banks, which includes site clearing and prep, adding riprap, stream habitat additions and bank stabilization.
Davy Engineering Co., Inc. of La Crosse designed the project, in cooperation with Pierce County Land Conservation.
