Jeffrey “Ike” S. Mountin, 62, Lake Mills, formerly of Elmwood, WI, passed away peacefully at his home May 18, 2023, with his loving wife and family by his side, following a long battle with Huntington’s Disease.

Ike was born on September 22, 1960 in Red Wing, MN, the son of LaMoine and Dorothy (Langer) Mountin.

He graduated in 1978 from Elmwood High School as Salutatorian. He excelled in sports lettering all four years in football, basketball, baseball and track. He was all conference on both offense and defense. He was honored to play in the 1978 All-Star North-South Shrine Bowl in Oshkosh, WI.

Ike started Mountin Construction in 1980 and retired in 2015. He took pride in his workmanship and it showed. He taught his sons all he knew and was proud to see them use their skills as adults.

In July, 1998, a family friend introduced Ike and Torrie while celebrating UFO Days in Elmwood. From that day on their long distance relationship with trips back and forth on weekends began. On September 25, 2004, Ike married the former Torrie Wegner in Elmwood, in an outdoor ceremony at the home of relatives. May 9, 2014, they happily made Lake Mills their home.

Reminiscing with Ike would bring stories of playing softball for Cubs Pub and Bill’s Pub, bowling for Mountin Construction, throwing horseshoes, rafting the Rogue River in Oregon, playing poker with close friends/family, and times spent in Balsam Lake, WI. He enjoyed fall color tours, campfires, fireworks, the Packers and Badgers and spending time with all the children, grandchildren and other family and friends.

Survivors include his wife, Torrie; sons, Jason (Renee Flatland), Ryan (Ricca Retzlaff); Jess (Danielle) Pfeifer; daughters, Alissa (Mark) Schroeder, Kelly (Kyle) Plath; grandchildren, Remedy Benn, Cade and Camden Pfeifer, Lydia, Elijah, and Mya Schroeder, Noah, Parker, Gibson, and Karsyn Plath; mother, Dorothy Mountin; sister, Julie (Jerry) Hannack; sisters-in-law Lenore Wegner, Patty Wegner and Tracy (Tim) Johnston, brother at heart, Larry “Sid” Bock, nieces, nephews and friends.
