To the editor,
The River Falls compost site has been operating knowing the air quality around our home has high levels of bacteria and molds. I have been trying to get it moved since 2017. I have an air quality test that the city paid for showing high levels, and noting that my husband and I do not sit outside with wind blowing in directions coming from compost and when they grind up the debris.
My husband has been sick with mold back in 2017 which doctors then asked about our living area. They believe that is why he can't get rid of the mold and still suffers. I have some really gross pictures of what he blows out of his nose on a sometimes weekly basis.
An employee at the city was working with me on moving the site out by the dog park out on Highway F. There are no houses close; however, this employee left and the issue was dropped. I feel the city of River Falls, does not care about us or others around the compost site. It is a biohazard to us!
If you would like the copy of the air quality test the city did and the pictures of my husband's gross nasal content, I can supply these. My husband almost died in 2017 and the city is aware of this.
Please help us to get the city to move this site out of town, away from people!
Thank you!
Cindy Fuhrmann
