Letter to the editor: What Prescott School District is about

Posted

To the editor,

I graduated with the class of 2024. I feel that high school was a very big step in my life that helped to set me up for the rest. Every kid is going to hate homework and being at school just like I did... but now that I look back on it, I learned a lot. With the math classes teaching everything I know now that I use on the job sites, English so I can actually read, and business to help me with my finances.

The classes that I looked forward to going to every day were the Tech Ed classes. Every day was a new day and always a new thing learned. Some of the big things I learned were how to weld, how to work on small engines, and about how to run the different woodworking tools. The Tech Ed department taught me a lot of other good things like safety, how to work well with others to get problems and tasks solved while being productive, and that there is some fun to school. One of the best things that the Tech Ed department did that will help any kid from the time they step into the class till they move into their first home is that they know how to do things on their own and don’t have to rely on a contractor that will over charge them for their work.

The PHS Tech Ed department helped teach me what I know now and has helped me to start my own business doing woodworking that has grown tremendously over the past three years. I can't thank the Tech Ed teachers that I had for the four years I went to the school enough for everything I know.
