To the editor,

Under the current administration, our nation faces crisis after crisis. Among those is the national security crisis at our southern border. It is a wide open, bleeding wound, created by President Joe Biden and Secretary of Homeland Security Alejandro Mayorkas. We’ve seen the results of their policies: Cities across the country are being overrun, record amounts of fentanyl are poisoning our citizens, and vicious cartels continue to brutalize women and children.

With President Biden’s poll numbers on the ocean floor, he’s suddenly changed his tune on the border. He has finally admitted there is a problem, but refuses to do anything about it. Instead of blaming others, he’d be wise to support H.R 2, Secure the Border Act of 2023. Supported by Congressman Derrick Van Orden, this bill regains operational control of our southern border and protects unaccompanied minors vulnerable to the cartels.

We need more leaders like Congressman Derrick Van Orden, who prioritize secure borders. He’s visited the southern border multiple times, speaking with local community members and border patrol on the ground. From day one, he has provided common-sense solutions, like H.R 2, to end this crisis. It's time the Biden Administration follows suit. Thank you for being our voice, Congressman Van Orden!
