To the editor,
This presidential election comes down to a child versus an adult.
Kamala Harris is the adult. She speaks consistently about kitchen-table policies like lowering health-care costs, buying a home, starting a business.
Donald Trump is the child. He is a vengeful, aged bully who led the deadly insurrection of January 6, 2021, and promised to do away with future elections, dismantle the Constitution, imprison if not kill political opponents, and turn the military on its own citizens, against a vague “evil within.”
Harris seeks opinions and insight regardless of party affiliation, and brings a full complement of prudence, judgement, dignity, and behavior suitable for head of state of a global economic and military superpower.
Trump, meanwhile, has no plans. Just lies he knowingly spreads, indifferent to any human consequence. And he’s not well, either: when not name-calling, or adrift on stage amid consecutive variations of Ave Maria, he meanders into topical musings like the greatness of Hannibal Lecter and Arnold Palmer’s prodigious penis.
Is this the man we want to hand over the nuclear codes to? Good God. Let’s be adults and cast our vote for one, too. Kamala Harris. The only adult in the race.
