To the editor,
River Falls is blessed to have our Junction Falls Hydro electric generator! This local, annual source of over 1.2 million kilowatt hours of electricity is completely independent of the national power grid. In case of grid failure due to acts of nature or foreign cyber mischief, our Junction Falls hydroelectricity is here for us 24 hours a day throughout the year.
Look today at cities like Ashville, North Carolina. An unexpected disaster has left them for days without any electricity. Ask them what they would give to have an independent, local source of electricity like our Junction Falls Hydro!
Encourage the River Falls City Council, your elected representatives, to keep and expand our Junction Falls dam and hydro electric generator! Maintain this local, dependable, independent source of renewable electricity and emergency power!
Hope for the best and prepare for the worst!
